Victory Conditions in Campaign '41

Post by U.S.A. »

Hi. I just completed (I thought) my first WIR game by capturing Moscow, Leningrad, and Gorki. I thought the computer would raise the white flag when I snagged the 5 VP the manual says the Axis needs for victory.

However, the computer just pulls an Eveready Bunny number on me and keeps going and going.

What does it take for the computer opponent to give up?[:)]

The printed manual has not been changed since the game was first issued a loooooong time ago. There have been many changes in reaching the current ver. 3.3. I am not sure if that covers this issue, but attached is a record of the changes since Matrix took the game over as ver. 2.0.

Thanks again!

I glanced over the information and didn't locate anything regarding changes in victory conditions for Campaign '41. I'll have to study it more closely in case I overlooked it.

I know that when I use the Utility function in the game it says "Axis requires 5 VP." It also shows I have 5 VP with Moscow, Leningrad, and Gorki, but the computer is apparently unimpressed.[:)]

Anyway, I guess if the computer wants to keep playing, we'll just keep playing.[;)]

Well, having continued the game (as the computer seemed to wish), it seems victory comes when the captured cities are all at least at level 5 supply. Once Gorki was held long enough to go to Supply Level 5, the computer conceded.

Now to try the game from the other side of the fence.[:)]

That makes sense, until the SL comes up, the territory does not really belong to you. Difference between frontline troops entering an area and the cooks moving in. [:)]
