Patch Progress

Kharkov: Disaster on the Donets is the latest strategy title from the award-winning team at Strategic Studies Group. A synthesis of the very best elements of two critically acclaimed and top-rated game systems, Decisive Battles and Battlefront, and a successor to both, the new Kharkov: Disaster on the Donets brings to life a campaign of epic scale and dynamic battles on the Eastern Front of World War II.

Patch Progress

Post by Gregor_SSG »

Just to let you know that we have finished the Kharkov patch, except for one matter. As we have mentioned, the next games will be Eastern Front games and our research has determined that we will need to adjust the current limitations of formation structure. This is down to the Russians, who had an organisational structure which was different, in some ways, to that of the other major participants in the war. This change will not affect Kharkov in any way, it's all to do with future product.

As the patch consists overwhelmingly of improvements rather than fixes, we felt it would be better to make this structural change now, rather than going through the whole patching process again in the near future.

I will post more details on the patch soon.

ATD2 is totally playable, but we haven't done the variants and the AI yet, neither task is trivial or quick, so it will be a little while yet.

Blimey, that sounds like a lot of work. The AOs are very enjoyable (never thought I'd find myself saying that as I'm firmly in the "keep it historical" campe, but they are good fun), but I imagine they require a lot of programme work.

Well, from what I gather from the devs, AOs are historical....just the variants have been added for a little "replayability"
