As i was bimbling down the main drag i saw a dockyard matie that asked me for a DF,dont have any mate i say as the Killick Crusher took them off me at Captains Table and gave me a set of Nines.Im off to see my DO and see i can get a pierhead jump to Fazzers.

Translation -------> "As I was going for a walk down the main street, I saw a dockyard friend who asked me for a [controlled substance]. Don't have any friend I said as the leading Regulating Petty Officer took them off me at a disciplinary hearing and gave me the rules. I'm off to see my Duty Officer and see if I can get a head start to Fazzers (night club / pub)."

I'm a little shaky on this translation, but I believe I got the general meaning of it! [8D]

Thats pretty good.a DF is a Duty Free,or service issue cigarettes.A dockyard matie is a civilian contractor that refits ships etc.a set of Nines refers to punishment, rating from Feild Punishment No1= Firing squad to No 9's and 10's which entail extra work,no civvy clothes and reporting to the duty bod at really unhelpful times, also known as "Jankers" or "KP" as you colonials are wont to call it.A pierhead jump is a crash Draft/Posting to another unit usually within hours.Fazzers is RN slang for Faslane, the bane of any sane matelot.

Mr. RR, I liked your last one too! I missed it in my haste earlier.

Andy, the screenies are cool. It looks somewhat like a contemperary Combat Mission. I'm assuming it's not limited to WWII if there is night vision. I know nothing about Steel Beasts. It's all I can do to sneak a peak here.

Jason teased us with a map of a portion of the Sinai peninsula earlier. Perhaps he's got something more to wet our imagination -- even if the game is a year or two from release.

Edit: Andy, congratulations on the contract.
