Things you can't do ?

Post by DCWhitworth »

I can't work out how to find out -

1. What enforced peace is in progress between two nations other than the one I'm playing. (Yes I could scour the event log but is there an easier way ?)

2. What economic manipulation I have set for the next economic phase. (OK I should have written it down I know, in PBEM it's a long time between phases)

Actually, those are two items that are difficult because they do not exist!
Other nations' EP progress is not public information at this point. Should it be?
The Eco Manip screen is only avail in the eco phase.

Everyone knows what peace conditions are imposed at the end of a war, not being able to find a ready reference for enforced peace remaining is annoying. You could probably add it to the Nation Status Overview screen.

Why?? If I have to write down things so that I can remember them when playing the PC game then why am I playing the PC game at all?

The Eco Manip screen should only be SET in the eco phase, but the info should be able to be seen all the time.

As far as others' war conditions, I agree with DCWhitworth.

Marshall you could add a icon in examining country, for home country you could show eco-manipulation settings.

For other MPs you should add the boxes, like see the Enforced peace, and Enforced peace to parts under detail for other countries..

Its think its really required in a pbm game where many players are replaced during play, and where it can go on for years.

Eco.manipulation can change a nations plans to do, during those 3 months till you could change it again. Imagine you surrender just to stay above the fiasco zone, then eco manipulation the previous player had can take you below, because you did not have that information.

Simple oversite. I don't think we intentionally did this but never got any feedback / requests until now.

I think the point is that this is information you already have and are entitled to, since it's part of the public peace terms. But right now you have to dig through the log if you've forgotten, so it would be nice if it were more easily accessible.

Because the information is public knowledge when peace is made. What is the point of hiding something that was originally public knowledge ? Where does it say that a nation's enforced peace status should be hidden ? There's already too much hidden in the game, don't add more.

The expiration of enforced peace is a crucial element to the game and knowing the status of each country is important.

Imagine a game, where your ally is currently played by AI-during his week(s) of vacation. (Players away are handled in different ways depending on game group).
Now you start planning a war on a common enemy, who threatens your border, but you dont know if you can call your ally yet, if there is some "old enforced peace still in place".

But i agree with the others, it should be public, easier to show in some screen, than having to go through game log to find it, and risk missing valuable information.
