Sicily dont want to fall

Post by Chairman »

I didnt want to have all my divisions slaughterd in Sicily, so I put a HQ extra and put only 6 divisions on Sicily from the beginig.
I have strenght 66 to 2500!
When will Sicily fall??
Dont the computer check this all turns??
A great man ones said "Veni Vidi Vici" and "Alea iacta est"

If you only have a CV of 66, Sicily will fall probably right away. However, there are no checks during bad weather - for the south front I think snow only, so probably on the first mud or good weather turn it will fall. The problem with the weak strength is that the next check will happen quite fast, which may be a problem.

west front shouldnt be bothered by mud and snow if posseble

You are probably right, Screamer. I remeber one front has no event checks in mud and the other does. I just know that in Italy landings were made nearly year round, whereas the landing in France was basically planned for summer due to the bad tides/weather in the other months, which made me guess Italy can have events in the mud, but it could easily be reversed as you say.

I just ran a test and stripped the south front to 162 points and the front collapsed all 10 times I ran the next turn. One other cause I can think of is Ed's latest Wirhack changes the executable itself permanently until reset. Is it possible you used Wirhack before and have not reset it? Avoiding collapse for more than one turn is extremely unlikely in the situation you describe, as you have said.

In my 1943 game I pulled away all units from the SUD front in the first turn (even the Italians, I didn't want them to receive replacements after shattering), leaving it at 0 strength.

It took the Allies 10 turns to arrive south of Rome, against no opposition at all. Then, as the position became tenable, the same withdrawn German troops moved in.

Although the Italians have surrendered, the front's strength is 3000+ and I haven't transferred to it any new divisions. I'm even thinking of sending one or two of them away.
