I will have 3 1/2 4E bomber squadrons plus the RAF to try to stop an invasion. I have some RN surface ships to use also.

SEAC Chinese troops have reached Myichina and are being air lifted over the jungle into India proper. These and the replacement LCUs should be able to at least stalemate any landing. I doubt he will even try until the PI and DEI are clear which gives me time.

More slaughter at Batavia. I am losing planes at a 3:1 rate but they are sinking transports so it is worth it. I am rotating sqaudrons in and out of Java but morale is falling fast due to losses. I may have to pull the whole lot back to OZ soon. I am also running short of P-40s.

Unescorted raids in Burma sufferd heavy losses. The AVG is on the way back to help

Funny that you should mention that. I noticed that my Chinese LCUs that were involved in the successful counterattacks now have exp levels in the high 50s compaired to the mid 40s of the other units.

If memory serves me the Assault Value is 1/2, if their experience level is below 50.  Thus, got to get them into some combat you can control.

Another bllody day near Batavia. Losses were even at 48 each but I am out of replacement fighters. A phased withdraw is now in effect. Hopefully I can keep him tied up on the ground for another 1-2 months. This will give me time to get OZ and India ready.

RE: The Battle of Batavia

Post by RUPD3658 »

Slow turn since most all AC have been withdrawn from Java either directly to OZ or via Timor.

Chinese units from Homan have moved to Sian to attempt a counter attack next trun. If it succeeds they will wheel and go after the second Jap force near Homan. This should throw off the Jap advance in the north by 1-2 months. If it fails I will be fighting in Chungking very soon.

RE: The Battle of Batavia

Post by RUPD3658 »

Counter attack at Sian failed to push the invaders back across the river. I fear that this will lead to the fall of North China within a month.

In Java Batavia fell. Hopefully a fighting retreat can drag the balle of Java out until April.

Would have changed the course of the offensive. I figure that China is a lost cause anyway so I am not too upset. Would have been doing the old happy dance if it had succeeded.

Surface battles at Andaman cost me a CL but sink 2 transports and possibly a DD.

In China a shock attack breaks through the lines and allows 800AV worth of cut off units to escape south of Kweiyang to escape to the north

KB swings south of Java and nails my evacuations TFs
