grats sinking the yorktown.

and ike tries always something new and intrstring...now with his allied "wau strategy".

in WITP, the japanese get a very good transport plane with 10k load ( L2D “Tabby”) but not in UV.

the tabby is as good as the C-47 and helps alot with fast troop movements. for example:

transfering an air HQ and aviation unit from saigon to moleman in burma takes several weeks per land trasfer, but only 2-3 turns with tabby air groups.

The Japanese actually had a licence-built version of the Dakota which they continued surupticiously after the outbreak of hostilities. Don't think it was used all that widespread though, and I don't know what it's designation was.
I certainly could do with a transport plane right now, I've just had a look-see and in UV they don't arrive for several weeks yet... [&:]

Wau is a diversion... once PM falls, you can kill it whenever you want to.

I out number him almost 3:1 @ Wau but can't seem to break through at the moment.  Having level 2 fortifications there don't help much & Frontal assaults seem to be a bit expensive to say the least! For the time being I've gone back to bombardments although I have only limited supplies. I do have most of the 8th Army there (infantry at least), South Seas, Yazawa and 21st Brigades. Think I'll have to divert some more troops in from elsewhere, I'm thinking some heavy artillery and possibly tanks as well - I note he doesn't have either from my reconissance flights

I have some in the area but they are not part of the attacking force,  they are still building up Lae but I could move them across if required.
They are construction Engineers not combat Engineers (like the US has) - will that still help to reduce his fort level?

According to the manual only combat engineer units will help reduce the fortification level.
