How do you conserve Experience

Post by LazyBoy »

I am having trouble working out how to conserve experience of units when they need replacements.

For example I have a unit with 1 transport and experience of 40.
When I transfer, say 2 fighters and or dive bombers the unit experience drops too about 10.

Does the number of reinforcements affect the unit experience, or is it the number of times you put in reinforcements per turn?

How do you conserve experience?

Thanks

New builds I believe have 10 experience, every turn they gain more experience. My experience has been only like types effect experience. If you add Infantry to a unit it will change the experience of the infantry but have no effect on any other sub unit.

As you stack subunits they average the experience.

One way to get better replacements is to have and keep a LARGE number in reserve so as new are added they do not drop the experience that much.
Favoritism is alive and well here.

Also, if two, or even three, of your very experienced units get heavily mauled, combine them together to form one full-sized unit with high experience, while you fill the remaining skeleton unit(s) with fresh (inexperienced) troops.
That way, you'll have at least one good unit available, with it's (valuable) experience preserved.

Thanks for the information

I forgot that each sub unit has its own experience and have only been looking at the Unit average shown for the unit counter.

Combining experienced units is good idea.
