Control

Birth of America 2: Wars in America is the much expanded reprise of veteran developer AGEOD’s acclaimed first release, which allows players to command either side of the conflicts before, during and after the American War for Independence between 1636 and 1815. Apart from the engaging turn-based strategy play that has been expanded and vastly improved over the original, Birth of America 2: Wars in America includes major new features like an improved and expanded map including the Mississippi River, new European off-map boxes (France, Great Britain, Spain, Holland) and more.

Control

Post by Happy Wlad »

I just finished (well stopped playing anyway) "The Whites of their Eyes" scenario as the British. It was a great game and I loved every minute. Sinking virtually every ship of DeGrasse's fleet with Rochambeu's (sp?) army in it was truly the highlight of the game. (Finally managing to bring the hammer down on Charleston was a close second)

Anyway, I captured all of the Objectives and all of the Strategic towns except StLouis and New Orleans, but it says I only control twenty. When I check the victory conditions some of the towns are marked by the the red flag with crossed sabers, indicating they are contested. However, when I mouse over the town on the map it says: "controlled by the British 100%."

How do I get rid of the red flag? Do I need to capture every level one city in the area? Does it have to do with loyalty? Because Ive utterly failed in that department, almost every zone on the map is 0% Tory. (not sure why tho)

Anyway, great game but I really want my pop up that says "Ive shattered my enemy's National Morale. :)

Hi!
To be awarded control of a unloyal strategic town objective you u will need to keep there a garrison formed by at least a regular unit (redcoats, provicials...). The red flag measn you have the town occupied but garrisoned just by militias / irregulars.
USA have it easier in this, as a militia can give full control of a strategic town if you have enough loyalty on the area (50% or more i think).
But as the British is very hard to get all that loyalty except on Canada and some souther areas.
Hope it helps!

To be clear, if the Loyalty [as opposed to "Military Control'] of a strategic city or objective is not at least 51% in your favor, you need a 'regular' there to get the points and 'credit' for control.

This rule is in effect only for the American Revolution campaigns and scenarios. [1775 through 1783]

French and Indian Wars, Indian Wars, War of 1812 do not use the Loyalty rule, so militia only [once you have Military Control] will be enough garrison to get 'credit'.

I hope this helps!
I'm delighted that you are enjoing WIA. [:)]
