Can't properly download game. I've tried about a half dozen times

I've tried downloading the game about a half dozen times, each time the file comes in at only 1.99 gig, and won't extract. It's supposed to be 2.26 gig I believe. Can somebody please check on the download? I bought the game two days ago.

Anyone know of any resolution to this?

The download file in the store is fine and other orders are being downloaded without a problem. Have you deleted the previous downloads and cleared your internet cache before re-downloading? Some browsers will continue to have the same problem after an incomplete download unless you do that.

You can also try a single stream download manager like www.stardownloader.com if the download won't complete for you, that's helped other customers with connection/download issues in the past.

Thanks for the update, I'll try that.  I did indeed clear my cache, but it still kept downloading at 1.99 gig.  I'll try the stardownloader, if that doesn't work, maybe I'll try firefox or something.

Stardownloader doesn't appear to work ... it says it can't find the address when I tried it.

Anyway, I purchased the game back on Dec 14 and it took me several tries to download the game. I had the same problem as mameluke .. someitmes it would end the download at 2gb and the lowest was about 800MB when it stopped. Again, stardownloader wouldn't work with digitalriver.

However, I did finally download the game ... I use AVG and I turned off RESIDENT SHIELD and it downloaded the full 2.26GB.

I don't know if that was actually the problem but after trying for several days it seemed to be my resident shield.

EDIT NOTE ..... Erik, let me know if you want the specific error the Stardownloader gave me when I tried to use it, I'm sure I can duplicate it again.
EDIT NOTE #2 ... With AVG, I think I also turned off my FIREWALL and WEBSHIELD .... In other words, to get the file fully downloaded I had to tell Scotty to lower the shields!!

Ahh, so maybe I'll have to disable my Kasperski as well in order to get it to work... what a mission.  It's a huge pain in the ass with a 3 hour to download file.  I don't mean to be a jerk, but why don't I have any of these issues with any other games I purchase and download online?

Same here ... I've never had a problem downloading a game from Digital River until now ... with Hired Guns.

I know how you feel ... a major PITA on my end too since it took me over 4 hours. I started to believe it was the internet traffic or my ISP but I had the same problem over several days.

Ok, now i'm extremely angry.  So I get home, I try to download the file, and I get this:

The number of downloads you have attempted indicates you are having difficulty receiving your file. Please contact Customer Care for assistance in receiving your product.

Message Number: 12

When I click on the customer care link, guess where it takes me? Right back to the download page. How amateur.

You know what, I'm through trying, it's not worth the aggravation.  How do I go about getting a refund?
