New Laptop - transfer license

It's been so long since I've done this that I forgot the steps. I'm about to transfer all my sports sims to a new laptop and need to know the exact steps I need to follow to transfer my PureSim2007 license. I also no longer have the original install 'pack', and I'm currently an oft-patched version of 1.72 on my old laptop. Obviously, I'd like to start with the same version on my new laptop. What's the order I need to follow - and can someone link me to the right patches to bring me up to date again? Basically, I need to retrace over 2 years of patches and mods on my new machine, and that's after transferring the license over. Pls. advise - this is my very favorite 'toy', so I do not want to mess up this migration!!!

If you remove PS from the old install. Install it on the new one and use your serial number.

On  a related topic, I had to go overseas and tried to install PS on the laptop I was taking. The install went fine but the game would not do more than one season. I kept getting an error like "end of season path not found".
 
Any ideas.[&o]
