RIVERpwhex7.dat AGAIN

Post by el cid again »

Chicken of the sea detected that the problem with Broome not being coastal had returned in the "fixed" pwhex file I issued. This probably explains what happened - why RIVER was wrong and none of the others - with respect to a different hex. We had somehow got an older file into the set. Anyway - this version fixes BOTH the Riouw and Dependencies hex issue AND the Broome issue. This is the normal file used in my games - that is - we play with open rivers and depend on players NOT to send the Queen Mary where she could not go. [Note that the Queen Mary specifically CAN go up the Yangtze - the Great Bridge at Nanking was designed to allow her passage benieth. It is only INTERIOR river systems big ships may not enter. The Lower Yangtze is deep - the Upper Yangtze is shallow - and the "green line" between them is at Wuhan. So far I have only had one incident where a player got mixed up - and it is easier than giving notice "we need to switch pwhex files next turn" so a river ship or landing craft can enter or leave a river system.]

None of the other files are affected - nor - if you start with the right pwhex file for your game - is the RHS installer/switcher disabled by these changes. It will still permit you to control individual river mouths or rail lines as required.

This file was uploaded to the primary distribution list.
