Final 2.09 Self Installer being Tested Now

Post by buddye »

We are starting to Plan the final 2.09 Self-Installer. The schedule depends on everyone's schedule and the testing results but we may shoot for a Christmas present for our players.

Here is a summary of the 2.09. I am sure I forgot some things but others will add to the list I am sure:

The 2.09 summary

1. More Aggressive AAA
2. Flak that can Kill
3. Bullet Dispersion re-design and implementation
4. Single Character Labels
5. Make over for air-to air and ground collisions
6. Improved counts for Kills, friendly A/C losses, and friendly pilot losses
7. Implemented exact same surface reduction code for the AI A/C
8. New Ground Objects and Landscape improvements
9. New Auto Gen Trees (WIP) starter feature
10. New FM and Spin improvements
11. Over 30 CTD and other fixes and features implemented
12. New Blenheim Model
13. No, Tiger Moth again, sorry (maybe 2.10)

Hi Sarge,

It will be mid Jan 2009 before we get the 2.09 self-loader competed (built, tested, documented, released).

A very happy holidays to you and your family.

The year 2008 was the best ever for BOBII, IMHO. We have made progress in all areas ( landscape, new objects [land and sea]), a few GFX improvements (Osram returned late in the year), better FM, new models, new/improved mods, improved User Guide, new features (AAA, flak that kills, bullet dispersion, etc.), and improved AI. We did not have any new effects as we lost Scott (A2A's CEO) to his FSX business (big loss for the BDG and BOBII) but Scott's success in his FSX business is just wonderful.

Here is an old post on A2A's relationship to the BDG (for those interested or not aware):

The BOBII game play and stability has also improved. IMHO, BOBII is clearly the best off line "dog fighting" simulation in the world.
I did have one big disappointment in 2008, we did not do the job on the Tiger Moth and it is not in the game in 2008 and my confidence for getting it done in 2009 is low.

Awesome!  In fact, so awesome... that I'm on vacation from work on the 3rd week of January.
I can't believe how far this wonderful FS has come since the undertaking of it by A2A.  [&o]

I am so looking forward to finaly procuring my TrakIR 4 Pro and really taking on the A.I. !

Merriest of Holidays !  Bring on '09... we gamers are ready! [:D]

Keep up the postings, Buddye ! [;)]

Thanks for the very kind words on our "Old Time Machine".

I just love it when our loyal players really enjoy our work on BOBII and tell us.

We are now testing the final 2.09. We still need to build the self-installer then test it.

I would guess about a week or two but that is just my guess and assume no show stopper problems/issues discovered/reported.
