AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 07/05/42

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Night Time Surface Combat, near Irau at 42,43

Japanese Ships
BB Kongo
BB Haruna
CL Abukuma
DD Isokaze
DD Shiranui
DD Amatsukaze
DD Tanikaze
DD Oshio
DD Kasumi
DD Shiratsuyu, Shell hits 1
DD Fubuki
DD Asagiri

Allied Ships
AK Bellatrix, Shell hits 1
AK Etamin

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

20 days later the Bellatrix limped into port with system and flotation damage 90+. They put out the 80+ fire damage on the way home. Then the stories started....

"Here we were, dumping gas cans on the beach for the new float plane base, and what do we see coming over the horizon? -- the whole **** Jap fleet for starters! Shells filled the air like swarms of mosquitoes from Lunga! Torpedoes criss-crossing the water, whipping it into a merangue of death. Float planes buzzing us and dropping coconuts! We fought them off...until this one Jap destroyer got a little too close. Bam! All hell breaks loose on board. But we didn't even flinch! The captain drew his revolver, took aim, and fired back. One shot right through the destroyers bridge. That's when they ran. All the way back to Tokyo and Uncle Tojo!"

If they don't shut up, we'll send them back to Pearl before the floatation damage is fixed.

I notice the crew of the Etamin doesn't seem to be talking too much. Find any survivors yet?

Etamin

Post by 11Bravo »

The crew of the Etamin insists that the Japs weren't running away, as claimed by the crew of the Bellatrix. Rather they were chased away by the Etamin.

Both crews agree that there were no Jap survivors.

The Etamin arrived unscathed many weeks ahead of the Bellatrix.

And, after the war, the crew of the Bellatrix petitioned the AKC to get a new breed of dog named after the destroyer Shiratsuyu, to symbolize all the yapping and running away.
Last time I checked, the forums were messed up. ;)

Its September. Checked up on the AK Bellatrix, just noticed their Night experience rating is 72!! DAy experience is only 24!

Thinking of putting them into an elite ASW TF. Or maybe upgrade them to a carrier escort. System damage down to 80 now. :D
