England not ceding any home providences?

Post by pmiller322 »

Invaded England (AI) as France. When setting surrender conditions, I notice no providences are listed to cede. All home territories for England are still English controlled but Malta, etc have been lost. The other major powers do give up home providences when surrendering.

Is this by design or a bug?

Along these lines, it there no way to actualy eliminate a major power from the game? i can get one down to their capital, get a surrender, but they always retain thier capital.

Sorry if these have been answered. Looked but did not see a post and never played the board game.

For what it is worth, one must have forces in a home province or border that province with one's own territory to demand it as part of surrender terms. So GB presents a problem unless you land forces.

Not sure about that capital cession question. In the board game, one could taek it after all other home provinces were absorbed.

That would be it. I crossed the channel at lille, not by ship. Took London, but not any of the other provencial capitials, so nothing to cede.

EiANW does not allow elimination of a major power.

EiANW also counts blockading fleets as forces in a province for purposes of cession. If you've defeated the British fleet it's certainly a lot simpler to send a fleet into Dublin harbor than to get a corps there. I'm not sure whether this is in line with EiA, an intentional deviation, or a bug.

Sorry, but i need more details to understand the problem ?
First remember following rules :
In EIANW you can not take eleminate a Major power "see 2".
1.Remember you need forces present in a "home-province" to claim it as a peace conditon.
2.You can not choose the province that contains the Major powers capital.
3. A major power looses conquered minors who do not contain corps if the MP is in the instability zone "my guess is thats why Malta got lost only".

Hope this helps, or as i wrote we need more details.

This is normal.
The capital province CANNOT be ceded. Other Major Provinces would only be eligible to be ceded if your forces were inside of them. Does this help?

Thank you
