Battle of Samar AAR????

Has anyone recreated this battle to see what would have happened if the Japanese did not turn back? I did a quick search but did not see anything.

Bloody hell, how terminus can rabbit on!!!!!

The game isnt built to recreate individual battles, you would need a more tactical game to do that.

I think the best you could do is mod a scenario and change the start locations and then see what happens.

Given the strict and immutable sequencing of the game engine the Battle off Samar is probably the battle least suited to be modeled in WitP. The engine separates air-sea and sea-sea combat into distinct phases whereas those actions occurred concurrently during the real battle. The combined effect of the continual air and sea attacks on the IJN fleet was what disorganized Kurita's fleet and convinced Kurita that he needed to take a deep breath and get his ships reorganized. The deep breath evolved into a withdrawal.
