Looking for opponent(s)

Post by sfbaytf »

I'm looking for an opponents or could join a team game. I'd prefer the allieds if playing just one other person as I'm pretty inexperienced. I have only 1 full PBEM game under my belt.

Im open to house rules, and mods.

I'd be interested too, either in a team game, or in playing the Japanese, though I have pretty much zero experience with the Japs. I'd be interested in playing either standard or RHS, though I could do something else if that's preferred instead.

I went ahead and downloaded and (hopefully) correctly installed the RHS files. I used the Level 7 installer. Looks pretty nice although the base icons are offset the actual island and atolls graphics. The contenents looks about right. I'm not fimilar with RHS so that may be the way its supposed to be.

Anyway I pretty much game for a full campaign as allied so let me know if still interested.

If the base icons are not right, then you must have an incorrect pwhex.dat file.

I still can't get the base icons correct. I ran the pwhex utlility and the icons are still not aligning with the bases. The pwhex.dat file I'm using is dated 1/11/2009 and the pwhex.old file is dated 6/18/2005.

I'm using a 22 inch widescreen nonitor running at 1680x1050 if that makes a difference.

I have never used the RHS map file and/or pwhex file so I really don't know what you need to do. I think you will have to ask El Cid or someone who is using it. I just know that no matter what, the icons and bases have to line up or you will have serious problems.

You have several maps and pwhex

If you are playing Level 7 maps, you need the pwhex for level 7

last file cointains several pwhex.dat files for different situations, use the standard one

If the base icons don't match up, your map files don't match the scenario files. You are either not using an RHS scenario (slots 68-79 or thereabouts) or you don't have the RHS maps installed.

I stand corrected now that I think about this. If the map art and icons do not match up, then the problem is you have the wrong map for the scenario file you are using. The locations are specified in the scenario file and the map has to match it.
