I found it annoying after a while. Like most modern "historical" programmes it is "historylite". While Enterprise is an ideal vehicle to follow through various battles, it lacked depth. The concept is promising though. I liked Dogfights, but found that they seem to pad out programmes with a lot of repeated sequences...

I bought the season 1 discs and think it is fantastic. I wasn't looking for issues but  noticed some mistakes on the skinning of models but was able to manage watching it fine.

Ditto cantona2. They had plenty of time to throw in more detailed information but didn't (specifics on refits, damage sustained, casualties sustained, etc.).

Ditto, Ditto,

It was as if the Midway action was an attempt to sink the Big E, other Cv were irrelevant.

Missed a good chance to show flight paths of air groups which either found the KB  or flew off into the blue.

I had no idea that the Big E singled handedly won the war until I saw this series[8D]

They had the sponsor, the money, and the technology..., and apparently "A Dummy's Guide to the Pacific War" for a script.  With the help of some decent professional historical input, it could have been a classic.   And I must second CANTONA2's sentiment..., I too reached the point where if I heard the phrase "USS Enterprise" one more time I was going to throw a shoe at the set.

The sponsor (big suprize) was Enterprise rent a car which was founded by a USS Enterprise veteren, thus the bias

Hi all,
ORIGINAL: RUPD3658

I had no idea that the Big E singled handedly won the war until I saw this series[8D]

That was exactly my sentiment after 1st episode... [:D]

They alleged that single plane from Enterprise sunk the IJN Cruiser at Kwajalein / Wotje whilst the historic truth was that it was just light cruiser and only lightly damaged (same thing with all those "important cargo ships" in laguna)...

USS Enterprise, not NCC[;)]

Judging by the content of the show they would lead you to believe that the firepower was about the same. [:D]

Saw all 360 episodes it's first season; heavy on CGI and special effects, but lt. on accuracey and history. However, it did improve towards the end of the season; that or I just got more accustomed to it.

Good thing the "Big E" was dry-docked towards war's end or the show would have claimed it won the war in the PTO.

BTW, 360 was sponsored by Enterprise Rent-a-Car, a company founded by a former Big E pilot, which may explain the obvious bias towards this great ship.

USS Enterprise, not NCC
Hee hee! Actually, even the Star Trek Enterprise was called "USS Enterprise" (NCC-1701), although being a "Federation" starship, it should probably have been UFS Enterprise or some such. Roddenberry just thought "USS" sounded better. He fought in the Pacific theater and presumably was a Big-E fan. I wonder if Roddenberry is a pilot in WiTP -- I've never checked.

I really hate that marine sgt dude, I feel like in a boot camp when I hear his voice ;)
I'm watching the shoW regulary (in fact I'm just going to watch latest episode of Big E followed by Dogfight: Battle of Leytte gulf), and tough I find it sometims too biased and not much historicly accurate, it's still good fun...
