Kwaj bombed

Post by RUPD3658 »

Big day for the heavy bombers. Destroyed over 100 Jap AC on the ground but lost about 50 of my own. The attack failed to totally shut down Kwaj but hopefully delivered the message that it was time to leave. 22 hits on the Mutsu should put her out of action for a while. Invasion of the Marshalls will commence soon.

RE: Kwaj bombed

Post by RUPD3658 »

Heavies finally flew and shut down Kwaj. Several TFs have been spotted in the hex so a surface combat TF has been dispatched to investigate now that the AF is out of action.

Japs bombarded Wake but caused little damage

Supplies have been flowing into Yunan by air so hopefully they can put up a fight for a few weeks. If I can keep the AF open for another week there should be sufficiant supplies to keep the LCUs in action.

RE: Kwaj bombed

Post by RUPD3658 »

Surface raid on Kwaj bagged some MSW/PC along with 3 TK and a few AKs but may cost me a CL and a DD. Maloelap was not shut down so some Nells still flew.

An invasion force is loading so the Marshalls should be mine soon.

Just waiting for the weather to clear so I can take out my frustration ofver the Eagles loss on some poor unsuspecting Jap base.

Invasion fleet bound for the Marshalls keeps slowing down to top off the short legged ships. It could be a while before it gets there.

Fiasco in the Marshalls

Post by RUPD3658 »

Today did not go well for several reasons.

1: I forgot to set my bombardment force at Kwaj to "No escorts bombard". This will cost me 7-8 DDs[:(]
2. The freakin' tanker TF passed the invasion TF bound for Maloelap (that for some reason stopped to refuel while in site of it's objective) and tried to unload fuel at an enemy held bease. This will cost 1-2 TKs and their fuel loads. [:@]
3. The invasion did not take place at Maloelap so the Mavis sqaudron was able to escape.[:@]

In the future there will have to be even more time put into planning such operations.

RE: Fiasco in the Marshalls

Post by RUPD3658 »

Maloelap was cleared out and the Allied CVs ran down the few ships that had escaped from last turn. Looks like I will lose a few more ships to mines and CD guns.

Yunan repulsed the first Jap assault but will not last much longer
