L2D2 Tabby upgrade?

I'm in the middle of a PBEM game playing as the Japanese and would like to upgrade some of my air transport units to the L2D2 Tabby. However, it doesn't appear on the upgrade list. I gather that this may be a known bug, but is there a fix for it and can it be applied to a game that has already started? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I cant upgrade to Tabby's in my PBEM. We have PDU off.

I know the Gina can only upgrade if one of the units that it is designated for upgrades to it, then that opens the path for PDU for all Japanese navy bomber units.  The Tabby might be the same.

On the other hand, it may be an OOB bug.  There is one for the P-51B.  The pool fills up, but you can't use it.

You aren't allowed to tweak a game in progress.

Another problem could be if you have upgraded all Tabby units (or any other specific aircraft) on the board... if you have, it closes off the path to allow another unit to use Tabby's.

Heck, i think you can even manage this while there ARE (say) Tabby units on the board - if you have (say) one unit on board a ship, and it is the only unit with (say) Tabby's, then you might lose the upgrade/downgrade ability... at least, this happened to me in a PBEM with a different aircraft type.

Tabby is naval transport - so even with PDU on - only naval transport units can upgrade to Tabby.

Thanks for all the tips. Still no luck though, so it looks as if I will have to make do without the Tabby!
