CHS 2.08 Amphib Force/AGC question

Post by bradfordkay »

Succinctly put, why are there so many AGCs if there are only 3 Amphibious Force HQs to use them?

What Japanese HQs are supposed to use the Japanese AGCs?

I didn't know that there were any japanese AGCs in the game... it seems like these ships had more uses than just carting around an Amphib Force HQ.

There didn't used to be. I [for RHS modified from CHS 155] attempted to add AGCs to IJN - it had two different kinds - more than one of each - but found the ships real value - as fast cargo/troop carriers - was rendered useless by an AGC rating - so I changed the designation back again. AGCs only work with certain kinds of HQ - not just any HQ - indicated by a particular field. IF you have that kind of HQ AND IF you have it loaded on an AGC there is supposed to be a benefit in an assault situation. I have not found it was important - assuming there is a benefit. The only case the game AGC makes sense would be with a tiny one - e.g. a USCG cutter - since it has so little cargo/troop capacity - it would not matter if you lost it.

Add to the fact that the Allies have so many more ships in their inventory than the Japanese.
