Building Transparency

Post by benpark »

I had set up a test on a blank map to check the mount points for some new buildings. I entered and then moved the soldier models out of the structures, but the buildings retained their transparency even with the soldier models unmounted. I hit "play", and the problem remained. Is there anything I can do to remedy this?

This seems to be a bug in the game engine.

I just ran a test of one of the stock maps. I mounted and then unmounted an infantry units in the church in the setup phase. The church then remained transparent. It seems to happen only when units are mounted during the set-p phase, as it isn't a problem when units are mounted afterward.

Yes I've seen this too.

I click on the buildings themselves (or the map?) to clear this fluke. The buildings then go back to solids.

That doesn't fix the issue but it clears up the astetic concern.
Images should be easier to load at Matrix.

I mentioned this bug a long time ago ...

It also happens during the simulated phase. If you watch carefully, you can see which buildings are being mounted/dismounted by the enemy simply by observing when the buildings go transparent, even though you don't have LOS on the enemy. During the phase, it will sometimes reset back to opaque, sometimes not.
