Greetings! I'm waiting for the patch before I finally dive into my first game. I haven't played one of the Close Combat games for over a decade.

Hello there,
just wanted to introduce myself, too.

I'm also from Germany and started playing CC in 1999 (during my stint in the Bundeswehr) when a fellow Panzergrenadier showed me the game. Naturally, I also bought CC IV and V, and even "infected" some of my friends. Personally I liked CC V best, because of the (editable) battlegroups and the strategic map. I was never so much into this requisition points approach of CC III. Even today, I think that the gameplay approach of the CC series is unsurpassed, and I have been (actively) looking for "worthy successor" for almost 5 years now.
So, in this regard kudos to the programmers who created those games and of course to the modders (esp. Rattenkrieg Stalingrad, SAS mod and GJS) who kept the fun in it! [&o][&o][&o]

But enough praise for now.
I bought WaR, as well as CoI, and like UltraGott I am very happy to have a stable version of CC finally. But there is always a catch...

The games were sold in the the lower full price range (~36€ incl. VAT, a new PC game is around 50€ max, Fallout 3 (PC) for example is already sold for 36€) and I really have to say that I feel kind of ripped of! I just expected more (this holds not so much for CoI, which had enough new stuff from my point of view and was the first re-release)! I'll be posting all of my points/problems/recommendations in special threads in the future...

P.S.: Don't get me wrong, I'm still an absolute CC fan, but some things have to be said. Hopefully, it will enable the staff to produce a better re-release of CC V.
