No victory songs playing?

I've just reinstalled and patched HCE but then I find that no songs playing when a enemy ship is destoryed. And more, when I reach a victory, only a picture displays, still no songs (I remember that the national song of USA should be played...). The game option of sound and song are "on", so I don't know what's the case is. Has anyone ever experienced such things like me?

This is probably a stupid question, but ... you haven't accidentally muted your main volume control, have you?

That's unbelievable...I mean, the other sound (like the missile launch, the warning, the sonar) are okay, only the songs are not played.

Now the song plays well. I cleared the registry and then reinstalled the game. After that, the song can be played.

were you playing in the same battleset both before and after the reinstall?

Months ago, I played various battlesets and the song played well. In last month I uninstalled HCE. The day before yesterday I reinstalled the game and then I played the West Pacific Battleset, but the song was not played. So I used some tools to clear my windows registry before reinstalled the game again , and then I played the Westpac battleset and also the original GUIK battleset. This time, the song played well.  So I guess that problem might has caused by some kind of registry problem of my windows XP? Luckily, now the problem  is solved...

Thank you for the extended report.  I have nothing intelligent to add, not sure what is going on but a couple of people have had a similar experience.

I also have this problem. Songs were playing and now they no longer play. I didn't change anything that I know of. I will try playing with the registry.
