The AirRich.zip file

Post by K62_ »

This file, that comes with the Wir 3.2 download, is supposed to give you new aircraft icons. I noticed it also modifies aircraft stats and types, though. For instance, the Ju87D no longer exists and the German fighter-bombers are much affected: the Bf110 series becomes very inefficient, as well as the Me410A. The FW190F gets a big cannon rating (18).

So what version are you folks using: the "normal" stats or the "AirRich" stats?

Yes I noticed that too, and was just grateful that I cross checked with the unaltered 3.2 WIR program. Clearly it is not supposed to be used with 3.2, and should be pointed out somehow. By the way I am new to this board. I have been a big fan of WIR and PACWAR for eons starting with MY ATARI 800XL I was displeased though with how buggy they were. I was blown to bits when I found the Matrix website with both games updated, and this board. Pinch me. I THINK I'M DREAMING.

Copy only the Air1.sym file in your wir directory and you get the new pictures without Data modification .

WitE 1.08+ dev team (data/scenario maintainer)
WitW dev team (aircraft data, partial data/scenario maintainer)

Thanx Denniss. Actually I knew that and was just testing you.It looks good and greatly improves the aircraft recognition. By the way, you can go to "Fighter Ace HQ, The Planes" to see some great pictures and stats on most of them.
