Fun Generated Scenario.

Post by V22 Osprey »

The Battle Generator in JTCS is superb.[8D]

I generated this Battle recently, I always come back to it and have fun.Never played against a human with it though.

I love the generated battles too.  If you have never looked at my ScnPick program do try it.  It was written by a dedicated generated battle fan, and allows you to do things the normal program cannot do.

It is in the user_mods folder.

Chuck, I don't get what you mean.

My money, my computer, my free time, if I want to play unhistorical ****.... I will. It's none of your concern.

This is unnecessary and will not be tolerated again.

Yes, that is a warning.

Generated Battles are great, you can get a different battle every time with only a few mouse clicks....unlimited replay value.Historical scenarios are the best, but sometimes I just want to set my own parameters and get going on something different.I pretty much only play generated battles anyway.[8D]

Junk2drive- Chuck means the ScnPick program that should come in the latest update....its a great program.

Good morning Junk,

In the User_Mods folder is a program I wrote to work with scenarios.  It allows you to get a setup phase when one is needed, but not available, to change which side goes first, and so on.  There are plenty of screen shots and discussion from when I wrote it, so just search on ScnPick on the forums.  Please feel free to ask me any questions.

Good morning Osprey,

Thanks, glad it is getting use.  It was fun to write.

I've looked at your program a few times but didn't realise that you could change things in the screen.

The reason I wrote it was because there was no way to get the needed setup phase in the generated scenarios.  I was playing "meeting engagements" one after another because the ones with one side in a prepared position were started with a random jumble of units.  With ScnPick you can start with a setup phase, just like in the dynamic campaigns.  It can be fun to switch the first side too.

Thanks Dan!

You cast a tool "upon the waters" and you are never quite sure where it floats off to.  In 1979 I bought a TRS-80 Model I because I was excited about computers and wargaming.  I began a career as a computer programmer, and never was able to find the time to write much regarding gaming.  Now as I approach retirement I am getting a chance to do more in this area.

Just now I am very active with "World War Two : Road to Victory" from Matrix, and have been working up some small programs for my own use with this fun game.
