Timed play feature

Post by vonRocko »

Hello, I am interested in purchasing SPWAW, I had the original games and loved it. But looking at the game description, I see this "timed play feature"! I thought this was turn based? Does that mean I only have a limited time to move? My old brain needs time to think.
Can someone explain this to me, before I sink $80 into it?
Thanks for any help.[:)]

p.s.-I have been going over the forum, and I have some confusion about the enhanced versions. Is it recommended to get enhanced version, or is the game ok as is?

Timed play is for multiplayer games and it is optional - you don't have to use it if you don't want to.

If you enjoyed the older versions, then you will enjoy this one as is. You can always try the enhanced variants later on.

THere is a free version that does not contain the Mega Campaigns. Download it first to try it out. Then if you want to play the 4 excellant Mega Campaigns that come with the Gerneral's addition, go for it.

The Enhanced version is a mod to the basic game. Changes to the OOB's, pictures, sounds, and some functions of the game. Lots of people put lots of hard work into it, on going mod for many years now, and it's well worth the minimal effort to use it.

Have fun.

Thank you guys!
I'm glad the timed turns are optional. The mega campaigns are what interests me,so I guess I will spend the money. I'm sure it will be worth it.
Thanks!
