Week Eight results have been posted.
How close did the St. Patrck Keltics come to losing their undefeated status?
Which team has earned a playoff birth?

Looks like we finally have a good season. [8D]
Go Comets.

Our Owner Chip Paddington needs to make some moves for next season. This one looks like its over, 5 losses isn't getting it done, there goes our chance at repeating.

With the large league size (24 teams), it may do well to have eight teams make the playoffs rather than six. It's not my league though, so it is just a suggestion of a future option.

Actually thought about it more than once, Marauders. Probably will again this offseason. But, making the playoffs an eight team affair never makes the cut because it would eliminate the bye which is a bonus for winning the conference championship. I'm partial to that format. There are other reasons, as well, but I've posted those before.[:)]
RE: Metro Football League - Season 6
I understand.
Because I don't really like playoffs bye games in any sport, it wouldn't be a big deal for me, but it's your league and your rules.
The reason I brought it up was that teams with four losses already can be pretty much out of it. Over the last few seasons, when the Dragons got to four losses, I pretty much thought they were done. They could have come back and run the table, but the likelyhood was pretty low.
In any case, many community members like to keep an eye on your league, so please keep it up as long as you are having fun with it as well.

I've said it in the past but I like playoff format as is, 1/4th of the league makes the playoffs, how it should be, only the best of the best, instead of like NBA of NHL where over half the teams make it (I know thats not what was suggested, just think for playoffs it should be the elite teams)...

Yeah, many people like that, and it is quite fine.

Week Nine results have been posted.
Who are the tree-time Eastern champs?
Many teams are still in the hunt as we head into the final two weeks of the season.

That is domination!
One team looks unstoppable, which means they will likely lose in the playoffs. [;)]
Oh crusty cleats, the Dragons lost. They may back their way out of the playoffs.

Yeah, the champs are out of it.
Perhaps they will have a nice draft and do better next season.

Week Ten results have been posted.
The Keltics put their undefeated record on the line in Cape City. Did they succeed?
Two more teams have made the playoffs! Who's dead? Who's still alive?

Did knight get injured? Messer had the Corsairs playing like the team of a couple years ago.

It's been a good year for the Comets.
Brandenburg has a good offense. I hope the Dragons don't have a let down. I don't know which tie breakers are in place, but I'd hate to see them get bumped in the last week.
Marbro sure has hit the skids. They have often had good teams.

Actually Dunberry is the other team that has already made the playoffs beside the Comets and the Keltics. Even if they lose in the final week they're still in. Here's why..
1) Brandenburg can't catch them because of the tie on their record so they won't get to seven wins which the Dragons already have.
2) The Cyclones and the Corsairs play in this final week of the season. The winner will be in (7-4) and the loser out (6-5).
So the winner of that game will join the Keltics and the Dragons as the third representative from the East in the post-season.
