WW2: Road to Victory is the first grand strategy release from IQ Software/Wastelands Interactive, which covers World War II in Europe and the Mediterranean. Hex-based and Turn-based, it allows you to choose any combination of Axis, Allied, Neutral, Major or Minor countries to play and gives you full control over production, diplomacy, land, air and naval strategy. Start your campaign in 1939, 1940 or 1941 and see if you can better the results of your historical counterparts. A series of historical events and choices add flavor and strategic options for great replayability.

weather from events

Post by gwgardner »

Using events to add color to the game is a kewl idea.

I re-ask my question from a previous thread - why not use events to inject weather into the game?

Example: Oct 1, event fires to convert all hexes north and east, FOR MOVEMENT PURPOSES, to swamp hexes for that turn, in order to simulate mud.

That could be good.  I know when the Russian Winter event hits I love the reduction in combat strength, but there is something wrong about a 3-5 Inf Division becoming 1-5 and running off with 5 MP.  It would be better if it was 3-5 => 1-3 or so.

It will be possible to fire up an event changing weather.
But we have already implemented normal weather.
So there will be a snow and mud, both able to reducing fighting ability and movement ability. Also as we know winter makes more harm to Italians than Finns.

This feature is already in the game and it's really cool.
Wait a little more until we finish some graphic for it.
