The Slot: More of Greys ships are comin down, looks like a few warships and maybe some cargo ships. The carriers are being sent round Russell Island to meet them, and some PTs are being sent up to Munda, which is a possible destination for them. All ships larger than a PT are vacating Tulagi and Lunga, except for seaplane tenders, which will base at Tulagi anchorage

New Guinea: PM has become a very large airbase with medium and heavy bombers, it is well stocked with supplies. Theres a convoy heading to Gili Gili to develop it as an additional bomber base

Australia: Convoys are moving to and fro, carrying supplies and troops to New Guinea, and an ASW force is heading north along the coast to Townsville, from which troop and supply convoys are heading to PM and GG

Coral Sea: The Long Island ASW group and her escorts are being kept busy sub hunting, and grey is not disappointing, theres jap subs all over the place, and quite a few around the tail end of the Guinea bird. I cant wait to get some more escort carriers [:D]

Australia: convoy has set sail from Townsville carrying base personnel and construction units, including SeaBees, bound for Gili Gili. additional convoy preparing to form to carry supplies, also to GG

New Guinea: With arrival of an AVD(Ballard i believe) at Gili Gili, PBYs have been transferred in. All bombers based at PM set on naval search at 7000

Coral Sea: many convoys heading to and fro between Espritu Santo, Noumea, and Lunga/Tulagi. Long Island ASW group and HK escorts heading west to prosecute spotted submarine reported 60 miles NW of main carrier group, will then rendevous there to fuel from oiler group

Noumea: 2 cruisers and 2 destroyers, including a CLAA and CL Helena, escorted by 2 destroyers heading to rendevous with and augment carrier screen. convoy sailing to Lunga shortly with reinforcements.

Luganville: convoy of troops/supplies heading for Lunga/Tulagi, additional convoy heading to Noumea to pick up troops and supplies for Lunga/Tulagi

Lunga: construction of base facilities halted to conserve supplies, PBYs transferred to Tulagi anchorage, PTs on patrol

Tulagi: an AVD has arrived, so transferred in aforementioned PBYs, approx 11 based here now.

The Slot: PTs heading toward Shortland to break up some shipping there, cause some chaos for grey, no enemy activity south of Munda, yet.


Big Picture: Other than the air attacks, grey hasnt made a move towards either Lunga or Tulagi, maybe hes conceded them? All hes done was to land some troops at Munda, no doubt in anticipation of me moving up the Slot, which was quickly broken up by the carriers, he hasnt tried to make a serious move, though some ships were spotted earlier heading SE towards Munda, but they seem to have turned around. I imagine grey either spotted the carriers or is wary of sending more ships down the Slot without, apparently, sufficient air cover. He should be getting Shokaku and Zuikaku about now, so things should get interesting very shortly...

Ouch. damn greys iboats to the bottom of Davy Jones locker. grey has arranged 4 iboats in an apparent scouting line. he must know that the carriers are just off guadalcanal. all ships that have no business in a major naval/carrier battle, are heading for noumea, though the Long Island group, as well as Adm Kimmels surface group, and the fueling group, are staying with the carriers. im sending the carriers south for today, theres just too many iboats thirsting for a shot at a carrrier.

Australia: not much goin on down under besides convoys en route to PM and Gili Gili



Guadalcanal: All available fighters are ordered to provide fighter cover to Spruances carriers, ive based some medium bombers here on naval attack at 6000
