Suspicious Submarine Collision?

Post by PunkReaper »

A British Nuclear submarine and a French nuclear submarine collide in the Atlantic ocean.

Meanwhile, SNP Westminster leader Angus Robertson has called for a government statement.
"The Ministry of Defence needs to explain how it is possible for a submarine carrying weapons of mass destruction to collide with another submarine carrying weapons of mass destruction in the middle of the world's second-largest ocean," he said.

Secret nuclear strike to be made by the French against the British!? Thermo-nuclear Armageddon at last?! I've got my broken down El Camino, a studded leather jacket, and a wooden stocked sawed-off shotgun ready! Or maybe they were both racing out there to carry "nuclear" test materials to use on the sunken remains of a UFO? Or maybe they both found Atlantis and were going to revive the city with nuclear rods from the submarine's reactor!?

You did say you wanted conspiracy theories! [:D]

A very weird story though... I read it and wondered - how, in a huge ocean like the Atlantic, do two SUBMARINES collide? Surface ships would be one thing, as they couldn't alter their depth to miss the other ship. But a submarine!?!?! Very odd.

Agreed, one has to wonder what was going on behind the scenes here. It is virtually impossible that they just "happened" to collide randomly unless there was some kind of joint operation underway. (Or they are really dim and share exact patrol routes without bothering to coordinate schedules!)

The collision was a cover story. Both subs and crews were taken for nefarious operations [X(]

There is really only one explanation - Love! [;)]

Years ago these two submarines were on a joint operation and ever since then, they've been trying to reunite, even if only for one brief moment.

I tend to agree; there's certainly no way British and French boomers would be involved in a joint operation. I get the feeling from the language used that the damage to the British sub, anyway, was quite severe, so it's great news nobody was hurt.

Well, even if the chance is low it doesn't mean that it cannot happen. Especially if you cannot detect eachother.

Oh, come on, the French and British, playing cat and mouse, and they got to close. The only question I have is who was the mouse and who was the cat.  If I were to guess, the British were the cats.  Yes I'm a British Navy Fanboy![:D]

They were two boomers, I doubt they were playing cat and mouse with eachother, most likely they were totally oblivious to each-other

You are probably right, but then one never really knows for sure, unless of course we were there. You could have had a scenario where British sub noticed the French sub, started a track until Trafalgar sub could take up staion, and then continue the track.  It's all conjecture by any of us, and I like mine the best...[:D]

Well I just got off the phone with the French Minister for Defence and he explained exactly what went wrong...apparently, the French captain was pissed out of his tree and the British have no sonar on their boomers (due to cutbacks)

There you have it folks, from the mouth of JD, so it has been said, so let it be known, let no naysayer dispute, or off with his head, or something like that...

I suspect the RN officer started channeling Lord Nelson. "No captain can do very wrong if he places his ship alongside that of the enemy" and thus the collision occurred. I hate to say it but there may be a major rework of Royal Navy doctrine in the works. [;)]

Hmmm, whenever anyone says there's nothing suspicious in relation to a conspiracy theory that means there is something suspicious.

As for me, I have my own theory. It doesn't involve conspiracies, just some thoughts about people who are willing to be squeezed into a tin can under the ocean driven by a pile of radioactive material with only men for company... [:-]

I must have been after lunch then - all of France is in a drunken haze from 12:30-5:00pm. Then they go into post-drunken-haze drinking.
