I agree with you, but if you take a look at several avatars on this forum, and several posts here one can get the impression that political discussion is accepted as long as you support a specific policy.

A Few signature quotes who apparently is accepted (all from some active on this forum):

"Hate America - love their movies" -Foos Babaganoosh - Anchor - Jihad Tonite
"Cut the Tax, Control the Spending, Secure the borders"
"Country First"

ect ect ect


Now I agree it should not be used as a political forum, but I don't think one should only censor or control "some" political discussions and statements. I personally think if you shall implement a system like that one has to have one policy, and to then stick by it as far as practical. (Ie. if a moderator see it, it should been dealt with).
