RE: Admirals Edition Land Thread
Don't worry Ron I look forward to being the recipient of a whole new set of gripes post release.
6 hours for the first I can't believe they did this/missed this/screwed this up is my personal selection in the sweepstake and I think I may lose because you will all be faster than that

USMC, Australian and Indian Infantry are the bulk of the TOE changes that occur.
Care to share any details on the changes the USMC undergo? Would be very curious to see how this is handled in AE.
Thanks in advance.
Chad

This level of detail is truly amazing. I am drooling already and it hasn't been released yet. My wife thinks I've just had a stroke.

Since women are immune to the song of the sirens, perhaps men who prefer goats are also immune? [;)]
Sorry guys, I couldn't resist...

Does Japan has any motorised infantry (treated as armoured) units?

Yup, only the three 'Mobile Regiments' that were part of 1st - 3rd Armored Divisions.

Interesting. Allegedly, the 48 Division had the ability to move one regiment by truck, one by bicycle while the last marched. Is that represented?

RE: Admirals Edition Land Thread
You can only represent that by pre-spliting the unit.
RE: Admirals Edition Land Thread
No 48th is presplitted but thosae movement modes are covered by normal strategic or move modes
A fully mechanised/motorised unit with organic transport is a different beast

Correct, every US and most Imperial divisions had a (much) higher grade of motorisation than IJA 48th Division (with the exeption of Imperial divisions acting under Jungle-TOE's, of course). And 48th + 5th IJA Divisions had received additional transport from Japanese Transportation Regiments and not organic motor assets (as Andy said, represented my move modes).

Along those same lines, what happens in 'A' split is 100% destroyed, but 'B' and 'C' survive. Will we be able to recombine 'B' and 'C' in AE?
THIS IS NOT A DRILL! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! FIRE IN THE ASROC LAUNCHER!
Now that I (maybe) have your attention, (That above sure grabbed our attention at Noon chow one Sunday!), could we perhaps have an answer to this question, and an addon question. I have had this happen, and wound up with two brigades running around with no home...
Add On - I seem to understand that from the post about upgrades being driven by the division, that if a division is divided, none of the sub-divided units will upgrade weapons. That little item kept me from rebuilding the First Marine Div once for two months because one 'regiment' had upgraded their AT guns from 37mm to 57mm. Sat there for months waiting for the rest to upgrade before I froze all upgrades on all other US Inf in the Pacific Theater to get those two regiments to upgrade their AT guns. And, then I lost Vandegrift entirely. Could not be found on the planet..AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I agree with your concerns, Rick. That's why I typically keep units undivided. It's a pain in the butt.
By the way, Vandegrift is over rated (from the Japanese point of view). [:'(] [:D]

Actually, I wish replacements on and upgrades to land units were two separate buttons.

Can you tell us how in mobility Mechanised/Mobile units can differenciate from comon foot based units in AE?. Do the Soviets Mechanised units be able to get a real mobility benefit vs foot based Japanese Units?
RE: Admirals Edition Land Thread
Mechanised units tend to be armoured so the Indian 268th Inf Bde is an example
Normal leg infantry walk
It is all in the distinction as to whether a unit is designated 'armour' or not as the only benefit of 'armour' is that it has a different movement table.
