SP Questions

Post by Barry Doyle »

Hey Folks... does anyone know how I can get screen captures from SPI or II? I have great success capturing games from SPWAW, but no luck with the older games. I'm particularly interested in getting them from SPII since WAW has no modern equivalent. Any suggestions? Also, are there any plans to upgrade SPWAW to include the modern stuff? Thanks!

No, I tried the trial version of HyperSnap, and even the captures of SPWAW were bad. The colors were mixed up, and when I looked for the Advanced Capture Options, they weren't there (because I have the trial version?). I've been using SnagIt 6.1 with great success... except for the older games...

Modern Battles

I believe the answer to the queston: Is SPWAW going to come up with a modern battle game, is NO. However you can get the Steel Panthers Modern Battles (SPMBT) game from the Wargamer web site. Its a DOS based game instead of Windows. I have no clue as to if you can take screenshots or not.

Lastest version of HyperSnap - I will verify the settings must be made for DriectX. You don't do that the colors will be all mixed up. They were the first time I tried it.

Comes down to: When all else fails, read the directions. I am as guilty of that as anyone.

Thanks Bing. I actually tried that (and reading the directions after all else failed). The recommended using all of the DirectX options is I wasn't sure which one to use, and it still didn't work. I will try again, and hopefully some combination of options will work. As for the colors they also recommended working with the Filters for colors, but I was still unable to get it to work properly. I'll keep trying...
