Honan and Wuchow were bombed again. These raids are escorted by Oscars and I just cannot afford any fighter losses at the moment...

My IL-4Cs were busy all day with no success apart from damaged 2 Petes over Takao. 1 plane and crew was lost in an accident. Morale has gone through the floor (14) and they will rest.

65th Field Army will leave the Xuwen blocking force and fall back into reserve at Liuchow..

I converted an I-153c back to the I-16 mod 4 (temporarily) to open up the pool for these aircraft again. All fighter units under training and under 45 experience have converted back to the mod 4 to free up Lancers for my three elite Chinese squadrons.

I am frustrated by the fact that I have no Soviet ML or DM available to lead minelaying task forces. Most Soviet ships seem to carry mines, but I am unable to lay them...

SigInt has revealed that there are now 11 men at Ise (they must have a cloning facility there!). As it's a size 8 port with ships docked I have decided to send USS Haddock (current system damage 6) out from PH to lay some eggs... USS Trigger has laid mines at Kwajalein and is now running back to Pearl. She has reported Vals and Kates attacking and as you will see from the screenie, she has almost exhausted her AA ammunition.

Christmas Island damage is now 58/37/0.

At San Francisco 47th and 48th BS converted from the B-18 to the B-25 and changed HQs to SOPAC. They will fly out along the airbridge as soon as they are ready. 5,325 tons of supplies arived at Cold Bay from SF.

754th Tank Bn is unloading at Suva.

The Dutch sub K XVI is ready at Melbourne and will cruise to Batavia to get back into the war. The rump of Aus I Corps has finally loaded at Townsville and is on it's way to Darwin. 2,000 tons of supplies from Brisbane arrived at Port Moresby, while another 10,000 tons arrived at Perth from Capetown.

HMS Rover, lying in wait as part of a sub ambush for any Kucing invasion force, was bombed by a Mavis and is heading for Batavia with damage 49/57/0. Further East the Dutch K IX carried out two attacks on a convoy that air recon reported as 3 CAs (see screenie). In the second attack she put a torpedo into AK Chile Maru.

Ens Akashiba, of S2 Chu/Komtjma Kktai scored kill 5 (a RAAF Hudson over Miri, I think - forgot to check!).

My light bombers hit Meiktila, causing minimul damage to the base but causing 31/2 casualties to IJA 55th Div. The Japs have moved into Taung Gyi, so the light bombers will change to the new target while my nightfighters continue to harrass the airstrip. At Johore Bharu my raid destroyed a Nell on the ground. Mike's bombers hit Palembang, Manila and Pp 21st Div and Pp 81st Div further South.

Supplies: Manila 32,112 tons; Singapore 84,314 tons; Palembang 18,898 tons.

The Indian sub Travancore now has 10 points of system damage and will head to Diamond Harbour for repairs, via a minelaying trip to Georgetown. The Q-Ship Botlea has completed repairs at Karachi and is heading to Aden.

In China Takao is now a size 9 port. Wuchow and Honan wre bombed again. My daily SB-2M raid on IJA 34th Div at 48,36 caused 20/1 casualties.

SigInt revealed the presence of JNAF 222nd EAB at Pagan Island.

Truk airfield is now size 6. Port Moresby airfield is size 5, while the port is now size 3. Townsville airfield is now size 5.

USS Trigger did not report any Kate sighting as she moved away from Kwajailen, so I am wondering where his CVs have gone. Two possibilities are that Mike has sent them after Boise (see below), as he hates that ship with a passion, or that he is taking them West to participate in the next invasions in the DEI.

CAs Canberra and Houston, with CLs Boise, Perth and Leander bombarded Rabaul. The combat report showed 3 Claudes destroyed (see screenie - 6 showed up on the summary), 138/2 casualties, 10 airbase hits, 8 airbase supply hits and 39 runway hits. The force is on it's way back to Townsville.

S-43 (sys 3) left PH to patrol Palmyra. ML Oglala will lay mines at PH, while 4 DMs head to Midway. USMC 2nd Raider Bn is unloading at Midway and the resident 125th Infantry is now up to 50 experience points. Christmas Island damage is now 58/33/0.

At LA the damage to BB Nevada has been repaired, just in time for the 4/42 upgrade.

VP-71 flew from Pago Pago to Luganville. 1,000 tons of supplies from Newcastle arrived at Auckland, while another 1,000 from Brisbane arrived at Cairns. US 8th PR sqn arrived at port Moresby, only to find that they do not have the legs to fly recon over Rabaul!

Laddie,

I think I know what your opponent is up to. It's diabolical. Insidious. Pure, concentrated evil.

He is going to hold back all further major offensives until the stress of wondering just where and when he will attack turns you into a quivering mound incapable of offering effective resistance.

Stand firm, man!

SigInt revealed that JAAF 515th EAB is at Victoria Point.

My raid on Rangoon destroyed a Zeke and A Sally. Damage at Meiktila airfield was negligible, but IJA 55th "Division" Brigade suffered another 75 casualties from my now very experienced light bombers. The Japs hit Mandalay and troops, losing a Nell to a P-43 from the CAP. They also hit Singapore and troops there, Manila and the Pp 81st Div. Tuang Gyi fell unopposed to IJA 55th Div.

Supplies: Manila 32,500 tons; Singapore 83,143 tons; Palembang 20,434 tons.

A cadre from 31st US Infantry was removed from Manila by sub. I cannot for the life of me remember if I had already done that or not.

The British sub Rover is now 49/73/0 and as can be seen from the screenie, is still a long way from the safety of Batavia. HMS Hollyhock is now 51/55/0. HMS Manxman stalled again on her way to mine Palembang (AAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!![:@]) and is on her way to Amboina instead. The damaged AK Maayo (63 sys points) arrived at Bombay, but was ordered to Karachi instead.

[:D][:D] He did that after December! I accused him of having some laid back Californian strategy that I was way to uncool to understand, but he just mocked me...

SigInt revealed IJA 40th Div at 49,36 and 116th Div at Kenkow/Wuhan.

Mike bombed Honan and Wuchow, flak claiming a Lily over the latter. My SB-2Ms caused another 24/2 casualties to IJA 34th Div at 48,36.

As nothing much is happening I'll start posting the end of month summary screens early...

The Jap airfields at Fukuoaka (Japan) and Changkufeng (South of Vladivostock - I think...) are now size 3 and 7 respectively.

4 DMSs sailed to thicken the mines at Johnston Island. I lost a B-24 over Wake to the Zeke CAP. I have no replacements and can no longer swap the planes over to a new unit to spread the experience. Christmas Island is now 58/29/0. I am hopeful that all the subs I pushed into the Line Islands during the KB's last visit will mean that Mike does not some back - this slow repair lark is a real drag.

10,000 tons of supplies arrived in Suva from the South Atlantic. The Americal Division is unloading at La Foa on New Caledonia.

6,000 tons of supplies from Capetown arrived at Perth. 6,000 tons of oil from Perth arrived at Port Kembla. 12th Pursuit Squadron finally had all their P-39s reassembled at Alice Springs and flew on to Darwin. I have spread the reconstituted Dutch air units at Sydney around various bases with spare aviation support. US 8th PR squadron moved their Lightnings from Port Moresby to Darwin.

I saved this screenie to highlight new arrivals and then forgot to do anything with them...

The Dutch sub K XVIII missed 2 PCs at Legaspi, but later torpedoed DD Asagumo. She will head to Soerabaya to reload.

B-25s from Manado were again over Legaspi after shipping, but scored no hits. I als achieved nothing over Meiktila, but 2 Sallys were destroyed at Johore Bharu and IJA 55th Div suffered 37/2 casualties. Mike hit Mandalay and troops, losing a Nell and a Betty to my CAP. He also lost a Nell over Singapore and went for the airfield and troops at Manila.

Supplies: Manila 31,346 tons; Singapore 82,621 tons.

The last of 109th USN Base Force were evacuated from Davao by sub and a cadre of 1st Pp Regular Division was taken from Manila. The 1st is not my best Philippine unit, but I figure it is the unit that would be first to be rebuilt.

HMS Rover is now 49/78/0; HMS Hollyhock is 51/48/0; the Dutch AK Taglibaran, still trapped at Pontianak, is 84/62/0.

A Dutch Martin 139 unit was withdrawn at Batavia, as was a Brewster 339 unit at Soerabaya. I have no reserves of the planes and figured that the instructor pilots released would explain some of the new partly trained replacement pilots who arrive with the reconstituted units...

The current damaged BBs...

In China, Mike bombed Hona and Wuchow again. I'd like to interdict these training missions, but cannot afford the fighter losses at the moment...

IJA 34th Division was bombed by my SB-2Ms at 48,36 again, losing 5 casualties. A Jap deliberate attack took Pucheng, causing 151/2 casualties and a retreat to the guerilla unit left there as rearguard, in return for 92/4 Jap casualties. I moved a Cav Division forward from Lanchow to Sian, 2 Field Armies were ordered forward from Sian to Yenen.

3,000 tons of supplies from Seattle arrived at Petropavlovsk on a Soviet AK. 6,000 tons of oil arrived at Vladivostock from Nikolaevsk na Amur, while 2 US TKs delivered 20,000 tons of fuel to Okha from CONUS.

Here is the end of month screenie showing pilot reserves.

SigInt for flavour - IJA South Seas/144th RCT is at Rabaul. IJN Yoko 3 Airborne SNLF is at Palau.

Daly Waters, South of Darwin, now has a size 3 airfield.

ML Oglala left PH to mine Canton Island. All the air combat task forces have disbanded to allow upgrades to take place. I should be able to stand 2 small ones up tomorrow as some ships are not due to upgrade. Christmas Island damage is now 58/25/0.

Tankers arrived at Colon and started to load 220,000 tons of oil from the reserve there. I will ship the reserve to CONUS initially. 72nd FA Rgt transferred to SWPAC and loaded for Brisbane, but is prepping for Darwin. RCAF 132 Sqn, with Kittyhawks, moved from Vancouver to Fort St. John, on their way to Umnak Island. 36th BS at Umnak flew back to Vancouver to trade in the B-17s they were not meant to get (yet) for B-25s.

VP-71 flew forward to Tulagi for search operations. SS Permit loaded mines at Sydney before heading back to Manila. 6,000 tons of supplies from Newcastle arrived at Port Moresby, but I am still having problems building a reasonable supply store here. 12th PS flew on from Darwin to Koepang. 8th PR took their Lightnings from Darwin to Soerabaya. 5 MSWs sailed from Perth to investigate the sub attack North of Geraldton last turn, in which TK Empire Steel was sunk by I-155. As you'll see from the screenie, Hermes has routed herself around the problem.

Madras now has a size 6 airfield. Legaspi has a size 4. I have to withdraw another BB and 2 DDs. HMS Arrow has already gone from Aden. HMS Royal Sovereign and HMS Decoy have left Batavia for the same destination.

My bombers raided Rangoon, Johore Bharu and Meiktila. They also hit Brunei, where a Tojo and a Zeke were destroyed on the ground. The Japs hit Mandalay again, but brought a heavy RTAF Zeke escort. At thes cost of 2 Zekes and a Betty, they destroyed 1 P-40B, 3 P-43As, 5 Hurricane Is,1 Blenheim I and an FK.51. I cannot afford the fighter losses yet, so all units but the 2 recon squadrons will withdraw Northwards. Mike lost a Betty and a Sally over Singapore. He lost a Nell and a Mary over Manila.

A Hudson missed an AK at Brunei, but my planes managed to damage a Tojo from the CAP. A Zeke was also damaged attacking my B-25s on an unsuccessful surface attack mission at Legaspi. A sub is heading SW near Makassar. 71st BS flew their B-26s to Makassar, while 427th BS moved their B-25s to Bali. A weak MSW tf left Soerabaya to search, as did 6 Dutch DDs. The ASW group I left at Makassar for this eventuality was busy delivering 2 ARs to Tjilitjap to aid HMS Hollyhock (50/45/0). The Southern US ASW tf of 4 DDs is escorting the damaged Hermes to Perth. O-19 and O-20 sailed from Batavia to mine Amboina and Menado. The last of ABDA HQ has loaded for Perth at Batavia.

IA 4th Brigade left Peshiwar to head to assist in the defence of Diamond Harbour. 25,500 tons of supplies and 3,000 tons of resources arrived at Madras. K-VIII (sys 10) disbanded at Diamond Harbour, while K-XIII (a persistent sys 1) sailed for Batavia.

In China Wuchow and Hona were bombed. The Jap 13th Div was identified at 48,36 this turn. This is the first I knew that it was there so Mike may be reinforcing this hex...

3 (5 it turned out) SB-2s fell to Nates while attempting to attack Jap ships near Swatow.

No, those graphics ( map ) will work in any Empires Ablaze game whether it be vs the AI or PBEM. I recommend PBEM though as Empires Ablaze is not optimised for AI play
