19400709 : We are moving ahead in Yugoslavia, and we are concerned with the Soviet buildup along our borders, but the presence of our combined fleets off Lisbon shows the depth of our concern with Western Europe. We intend to maintain a naval presence in the West, and we will do what it takes in production and repairs to contend there. We are well aware the Royal Navy is a force to be reckoned with, but we have more industrial resources to allocate, and they will find it more difficult to maintain their fleet in good order as attrition occurs. We can slip forces through the straits of Gibraltar as we need to do so, and the enemy must stick with the configuration that obtained when Gibraltar was
given up.
The Italians have seen the powerful fast British desert forces before them again, but we are there in consdierable force too, and will draw back on Tobruk if necessary and make them fight at the end of their supply lines. If necessary we can gain superiority in the Med and bring some German mechanized forces over to contend with the British.
If we can mount an amphibious invasion of the British Isles we will do so.
