As you'll see from the screenie, Hermes has routed herself around the problem.
She might run right over it anyway. I've seen that the routing taking during turn resolution seems to be recalculated to take account of changing conditions. If the detection level isn't as good as your memory, that could be a bad thing. You might consider manually routing Hermes well around the danger area.

Hi Mate
The trouble is I do not have "eyes on" the sub. She could easily move to where I direct Hermes. It's the old "if I move will I duck into the bullet" enigma. She has 4 upgraded 4 stackers with her, but is so slow she could never evade the first attack. This turn I will see if I can get some air search into the area.

The Lexington and Saratoga task forces have been reformed at Pearl Harbor. Hornet's (at San Francisco) airgroup has resized, but the Yorktown and Enterprise air groups have not. Christmas Island is now 58/19/0. S-18 disbanded at San Diego with system damage of 32. 82nd Tactical Recon Sqn arrived at LA with 12 P-40Es. I moved them to San Francisco, transferred them to SWPAC and loaded them onto the 72nd FA Rgt convoy for Darwin via Brisbane.
In Australia RAAF 2 Sqn flew their Beauforts into Exmouth for search duties, while GVT-1 flew it's one remaining Do-24 into Geraldton. 35th PS flew it's P-39s from Alice Springs to Darwin. RAAF 7 Sqn will attempt a port attacj on Rabaul this turn, while FAA 733 Sqn and USAAF 70th BS flew to Darwin from Kendari, because I realised I was still overstacked after the last surge. 20,000 tons of oil arrived at Melbourne from CONUS, while 6,000 tons from Perth arrived at Newcastle.
Todays upgrades...

Rangoon port is now size 7.
MSW Jan Van Amstel was torpedoed by I-166 West of Makassar. Damage was 91/63/37 so I scuttled her (see screenie).
I had no success at Rangoon or Brunei, but IJA 55th Div lost 9/1 casualties to my light bombers. Mike's raid on Mandalay destroyed a Lysander and a P-43A so I have decided to move all my air units out. He also bombed Manila twice. Supplies: Manila 30,592; Bataan 22,950; Singapore 82,455.
AK Peihua took 3 bombs from B-17s flying at 9,000 ft at Brunei. The CAP did not intercept. 12th PS flew on to Soerabaya. 8th PR flew into Sinkawang and started recon flights over Miri to relive the A-20s, which had started to take regular losses.
Hollyhock is now 49/41/0.

In China Mike bombed Honan and Wuchow again.
Here is the upgraded Nevada. I have not sorted out all the upgrade bitmaps yet so she is showing a late war upgrade. More of Dixie's fine work.

I'm a little less than certain, but IIRC carrier air groups have to be set to 'Accept Replacements' for them to re-size. That was a change they made in one of the patches a while ago.

Christmas Island damage is now 58/13/0.
USS Plunger (sys 15) disbanded at San Diego. RCAF 132 Sqn transferred to Alaska command and moved on to Whitehorse. They will go as far as Anchorage to relieve a US unit for redeployment to Umnak. 20,000 tons of supplies from San Francisco are unloading at Anchorage.
In the South/South West Pacific 14th NZ Brigade is unloading at Koumac. The Q-Ship Cape Sable joined the escort of the 7th AIF Division convoy. S-38 picked up mines at Melbourne on her way back to the Philippines. RAAF 76 Sqn arrived and moved from Melbourne to Cairns. 2 TKs with 20,000 tons of fuel and escorting 2 Dutch PTs arrived at Brisbane. They will move on to Townsville. 36th and 80th PS moved from Alice Springs to Darwin. The cruiser force disbanded back at Townsville after the Rabaul raid. Todays air attack on Rabaul achieved nothing, but with no losses. 6,000 tons of supplies arrived at Perth. The screenie is the latest situation at Darwin.

DEI/Far East/SEAC
ML Golden Leeuw was sunk by I-166. My ASW task forces are still trying to end up in the same hex as this elsuive sub.
At Rangoon Mike lost 2 Zekes on the ground. He also lost a Nell at Johore Bharu and 2 Tojos and a Zeke at Brunei. IJA 3rd Div at Magwe was attacked by Vildebeest out of Akyab and lost 16/1 casualties. IJA 55th Div lost 23 casualties to Blenheims from various bases. Mike lost a Nell and a Betty over Singapore. He also bombed Manila and Pp 81st Div. Supplies: Manila 30,399; Singapore 81,103. 60th BS flew their B-17Ds from Batavia to Calcutta to join the SEAC air offensive in Burma. Another heavy bomber unit will follow shortly.
HMS Warspite and 2 DDs joined the BB force at Batavia. HMS Rover (49/78/0) disbanded there, while KXIV (sys 24) left for repair at Melbourne. K XII (sys 9) disbanded at Diamond Harbour. HMS Hollyhock is now 49/38/0. The screenie shows my Northern ASW forces scrambling to deal with the latest threat.
China
Canton airfield is now size 5.
Honan and Wuchow were bombed again. In reply my SB-2Ms inflicted 40 casualties on IJA 34th Div at 48,36.

Noumea port and airfield are both now size 5. Expansion will continue.
A sub approaching Tokyo reported the sighting of a Val. It may be shore based or it might signify Jap CVs in the area to upgrade. As far as my PH Yorktowns not resizing their airgroups, replacements are on, I have many supplies and HQs are present so I cannot work that out. It could just be that the SF based Yorktown has taken her June/July resize early for some reason...
2,600 tons of supplies arrived at Johnston Island. Christmas Island is now 58/6/0. RCAF 132 Sqn reached Anchorage so US 18th PS moved forward to Cold Bay. 4,400 tons of supplies arrived at Umnak Island.
1,000 tons of supplies arrived at Auckland from Newcastle, while 2,000 tons of oil from Perth began unloading at Whyalla. 35th and 80th PS moved from Darwin to Koepang.

RE: Lorks-a-lordy, my Empire is on fire! GBL vs 1EyedJacks - Nemo's mod
Mangalore airfield is now size 3.
My raid on Rangoon caused no damage and my heavy bombers will now rest. 93rd BS flew it's B-17Ds over to Calcutta/SEAC from Soerabaya/SWPAC and will join the offensive as soon as morale raises to acceptable levels. There are at least 4 IJA Divisions in Burma. At Brunie 1 Tojo was destroyed, but Mike must have more flak present because I lost 2 B-17s, with 3 more damaged. At Rabaul Petes engaged my Beauforts, damaging one, which later crashed with no crew casualties. IJA 33rd Div was bombed by Vildebeest from Akyab, losing 4 casualties while IJA 55th "Div" Brigade lost 23 more. Mike bombed Mandalay and Manila in reply, losing 2 Bettys over Manila. Supplies: Manila 29,889; Singapore about 81,000 (forgot to note!).
HMS Hollyhock is now 48/26/0. AK Maayo (sys 63), disbanded at Karachi. There seems to be a build up of troops going on in Northern Luzon from the concentrations of shipping previously observed at Takao. I imagine Mike is going all out to take Manila to free up forces for follow on invasions. I am toying with the idea of splitting my US CVs and bringing some over to fight in SWPAC...
In China, Honan and Wuchow were again bombed. IJA 34th Div lost 9/1 casualties to my SB-2Ms operating out of Chungking.
The screenie shows the ASW cat and mouse near Batavia as a follow on from last turn's screenie.

I still have no clear idea of Mike's intentions. A push to Mandalay may be on the cards and he seems to be seeking to take Manila as soon as he can now. Singapore is still holding him up too. The Central Pacific is quiet, but 5 turns ago CVs were still present at Kwajalein.
To mess him up some I am thinking of taking some B-19s to SWPAC or SEAC to start hitting troop concentrations and bases with no CAP. I can't fit any more planes on Java without breaking my own overstacking limits. The redeployment of CVs from the Central Pacific to SOPAC/SWPAC is also a possibility, as is a raid on Jap territory in the Central Pacific.

The only other constraint that comes to mind is that they be disbanded, but I think you said they already are. We might be down to "Dang program does what it wants when it's ready to." [:(]

Xmouth airfield is now size 2. Cairns and San Diego Ports are now size 4 and size 9 respectively.
S-46, on a minelaying mission near Kwajalein, has reprted multiple C3N1 sightings, so it looks like some Jap CVs are still at Kwajalein. The Lexington and Saratoga are heading South to Brisbane. I figure I might as well take a chance as I ahve plenty of LBA deployed now. 4 DMs left Pearl Harbor to increase the minefields at Midway, 23rd, 72nd and 392nd BS flew their B-19As to Brisbane with no mishaps. You have to remember to move them first or the game crashes for some reason. Christmas Island is now 55/0/0.
47th and 48th BS were ready and moved their B-25s to PH on the first leg of their journey Westwards. 4,000 tons of resources from Alaska arrived at Seattle. 18th PS moved on to Umnak Island from Cold Bay.
10,000 tons of supplies from the South Atlantic arrived at Canton Island. HMAS Adelaide arrived back at Noumea with 3 points of system damage and disbanded. RAAF 18 Sqnmoved to Alice Springs from Canberra. I can't remember until I load the screenie, but think they fly Beauforts (Edit see post 673). 2,000 tons of supplies from Capetown arrived at Perth, which is finally retaining a reasonable supply level. The Lion task force arrived at Perth and took all the fuel. Next stop Soerabaya...

The Japs bombed Mandalay, Singapore and Manila. He only has Nates on escort at Singapore so, as the airfield is now operational, I have thrown in a squadron each of P-39s, P-40Bs and P-40Es to attempt an ambush. IIRC, they are at 22,000ft, 26,000ft and 30,000ft. My Vildebeest inflicted another 14 casualties on IJA 33rd Division.
35th PS flew into Soerabaya, but 80th PS stayed in reserve at Koepang. The screenie shows the PI situation. There are 2 task forces unloading at Lingayen ad 2 more are to the West, heading South West. Another convoys is heading NE. Supplies: Manila 29,729 tons; Singapore 80,026 tons.
Hollyhock is now 42/23/0. Rover is now 49/74/0. The repaired Q-ship Botlea disbanded at Aden.

Mike bombed Honan and Wuchow again. He also had a 30 Zeke ambush waiting for me at 48,36. He lost 2 Zekes (2 more were damaged and seemed to crash later, but I lost 6 Lancers and 11 SB-2Ms. Luckily I only lost 8 pilots. WO Hashiguchi of 24th Sentai scored his 8th kill.
