Mouse zoom odd behaviour - sometimes

Hi,

I've got an odd one which keeps cropping up. When I have a unit selected and use the mouse wheel to zoom in as far as possible, just as it gets almost to the unit, the zoom increment suddenly drops to virtually nil. I hope that makes sense? So, zooming from farthest out toward the unit is really fast until the last maybe 50ft in game scale and then the zooming moves hardly any. Also, at this point, the zoom only goes up and down. It doesn't actually get closer to the unit selected.

It's not a showstopper by any means, it's not all the time and I'm still trying to figure out if I can reproduce it, but I have encountered it a few times.

Jim,

I've seen that a few times, it seems to happen when I've previously "zoomed in" on a higher elevation than the new unit I'm zooming to. It's on my list of low priority issues. In the meantime, keep in mind that by hitting Tab you can zoom right into a unit without the wheel. That may work to reset whatever periodically causes this slow zoom as well.

Hi Erik,

It would help if I'd bothered to check the manual (which is sat beside me on the desk!) for the list of hotkeys, as I didn't know you could do that with tab.

No problem, Jim. You can also use 1,2 and 3 to zoom to preset levels FYI and if you Tab twice, you get the crew/infantry-level binocular view.
