Looks like there is nowhere for that tank to go!

AE should solve that overcrowding and overstacking issue.  [:D]

The reason for the stacking limites in AE!

Where do you fit 20,000 troops on a square Km of soil.... with no fresh water!

Cheers

I agree, its an LCT Mk 5. LCT 346 was assigned to LCT Flotilla 3, Group 8 which saw service at Tarawa, the Marshalls and the Marianas. I don't think it looks like Tarawa. I'm guessing the Marshalls. LCT 346 was damaged by Japanese aircraft on February 12, 1944 at Roi. In this pic it looks like its sitting low in the water, so I'll guess that is where the photo was taken. It looks like Marines with a team of Navy corpsman in the middle. Looks like an LVT(A)-1 coming ashore.

Yep, in 1989 in the Med. But it wasn't as much fun as our 4th of July Picnic in Portmouth, UK.

For the uninitiated, what is a steel beach picnic.

With the LVT(A)-1 in the picture, its definately not Tarawa, and you can tell its not Tarawa by just looking at the beach. Im going to guess Kwaj? Or perhaps Ulithi?

Hello,

A steel beach picnic is done on a deck of a naval vessel at sea. ussually a CV as they have the expanse for it.
