IMPORTANT: Physical Version Availability

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

IMPORTANT: Physical Version Availability

Post by Erik Rutins »

Crown of Glory: Emperor's Edition has been released with an online (download only) release first, followed by a physical release. We _cannot_ "upgrade" a download only purchase to add a physical boxed copy later. Therefore, if you think you will want a boxed copy with a printed manual, please wait for those options to show up in the store.

Once the physical options show up, we recommend purchasing the "Digital + Physical" version as the manuals are still being printed and the physical shipment date is still several weeks away. With the "Digital + Physical" option, you will be able to download and play now while waiting for your physical back-order to be filled, at the same cost as "Physical Only".

We will keep you posted regarding the expected physical dates. Right now, we expect physical options to appear in the store by March 5th and we expect them to ship out in early April.

Regards,

Uh-oh, I think you should have read that a bit closer.... you needed to wait till March 5th for that option to appear in the store.

CeltiCid,

Sorry, there's nothing we can do. We have no ability to add a physical option to an existing order, that's a store upgrade that we still have pending. I posted the warning in the hopes that this wouldn't happen, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Well, that may be a bit convoluted, but why not allowing (when it'll be ready)  a "physical only" *new* order, and customers of the download version will get a big coupon (with their serial) so that they pay only for the difference between both "options" ?
This way you won't have to add options, as it'll be a new order...

I want to wait for the Physical and Digital.  Is it breaking any rules if I ask that someone email me the manual so I can read it while I wait.  I have been drooling over this game for about 5 months, waiting till March 5 feels like 100 years away!!

If request is breaking rules, please delete this post and accept my apology.

I'm afraid that is against the rules, sorry Balto. Have you already taken a look at the video tutorials, developer's notes and AARs?

I apologize for that.  As far as all the info you list.  You kidding me, I have been following this beauty for a long time.  But also, I am a PBEMer, and the AARs and 2 of the 3 tutuorials are for Detailed.   So I will not be dealing with that.

I guess I will have to do something productive tonight!

Thanks, for responding.

Im not really getting why you didnt just offer the digital and physical option now and ship the physical games in april. What difference does another week make.

But oh well, Im just going to get the Digital version anyways because I dont want to wait a week just so I can have a physical manual.

They expained it was not possible to do both and still have the DD available yesterday. I can wait until the physical option is available. And I have no problem with others getting the DD now. Everybody will be happy soon.

You can pay by check in our store, but you will need to contact the store by phone to do that, IIRC. It will also add a delay to the processing time. In order to apply a discount, you would first need your discount code before you call in your order.

Latest news: The physical QA is complete. We wanted to post it this morning, but we've been waiting on getting the physical discount codes from DR. We can't post it without having discount codes available for prior COG owners who want the physical version, so we're stuck until they get those to us. I just reminded them again to get a move on.

With any luck, we'll still have it up today.

It should be working fine at this point. I may have posted too early before the store cache had fully cleared, but I just confirmed with DR that the physical options are live and the Digital + Physical bundle is available.
