RE: Allies retake Colombo

Post by RUPD3658 »

It was Munda all over again. I got so fixated on running down the barges escaping from Trim that I got too close to Andaman Is. It will cost me a CA and a CLAA by the time it is all done. At least I got most of the barges.

Sorong was captured so the empire has just a little less oil[;)]

RE: Allies retake Colombo

Post by RUPD3658 »

KB is still hanging around Wake. I have sent 15 subs to see if I can get a lucky hit.

Both attacks at Trim went well. I should have the base soon.

Got caught napping at Ambonia and lost 2 AKs and had 3 others damaged by surface raiders

Invasion force has left for Shortlands. Hopefully the CD guns have been silenced

Bloodbath at Wake

Post by RUPD3658 »

Gordon tried to retake Wake and it went very bad. I have the division that originally took the base there along with a CD unit and an Arty unit all with lvl 9 forts and 2500 mines. The invaders where cut down on the beaches. My subs have arrived and hopefully will start to pick off the survivers.

Trim fell on day 1 but the follow up attack on day 2 failed. 75K Jap units are now cut off with no hope of evacuation or resupply. Oh well, looks like I will bombard for a while to rebuild and gain experience for my units.[;)]

I was lucky that I never got around to moving the division off of the island or it would have fallen. The ML Weehawken is also responsible for much of the carnage. Too bad she was finally sunk

RE: Bloodbath at Wake

Post by RUPD3658 »

I lost a sub to CV air near Wake but one of my Gatos actually scored a hit with a MK 14. Did sink the CL but at least it hit.

Landing at Shortlands will cost me 3 transports and 5 MSWs by the time it is all over. The base should fall quickly since I think it is 1 CD unit and a bunch of support units.

DEI:

Koepang remains a thorn in my side but I lack the LCUs to take it from the shell shocked starving defenders. Once the Solomons op is done some troops will be transfered to take care of this. Kendari has 16 Jap LCUs living the good life at a resource center. I intend to bomb the last of the resources there (currently 225) then pound the base for a month or two.

Rabaul is well defended so I will ignore it. I plan on taking Gili Gili and the right coast of NG to cut off PM. I will come back for it later.

Wake front:

My subs have bum rushed the KB and the landing fleet. So far I have lost 1 sub and had 2 damaged for 1 torp hit on a CL. This is more of a psychological ploy to get Gordon to withdraw or make a mistake.
