Multiplayer PBEM: How does it work?

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

Multiplayer PBEM: How does it work?

Post by Berkut »

Can you PBEM with more than 1 other person? How is it implemented?

Do you send a file round robin, or is it clever enough to allow everyone to submit turns asynchronously?

How is the battle resolution system if you are not playing out the tactical battles?

1) One player can play each major nation
2) Turn can be sent in any order. Last players (spain in 8 players game) as to combine file.
It says in the manual that some machine have problems combining files and in that case you have to do it in order.
3) Battle is just like if you clicked instant battle in a single game.
4) You have no control over the ''in movement phase'' stuff during a PBEM. You have to understand how setting PBEM policie will impact the game. It is really important (ie trade alliance, limited surrender). PBEM policies leave you enough free hand to be able to control what you want but it takes some getting used to.
