losing a strat bomber - don't try this at home

WW2: Road to Victory is the first grand strategy release from IQ Software/Wastelands Interactive, which covers World War II in Europe and the Mediterranean. Hex-based and Turn-based, it allows you to choose any combination of Axis, Allied, Neutral, Major or Minor countries to play and gives you full control over production, diplomacy, land, air and naval strategy. Start your campaign in 1939, 1940 or 1941 and see if you can better the results of your historical counterparts. A series of historical events and choices add flavor and strategic options for great replayability.

losing a strat bomber - don't try this at home

Post by gwgardner »

otherwise titled, 'another dumb thing gwgardner has done in playing RTV'

Off topic: I am also very curious about the progress of your strategic bombing campaign in "Sturm und Drang". Quite a new twist. Not asking you to disclose any government secrets here to the public but if you think it is safe, please update the civilian population in the AAR.

1) level five strategic bombers cost approx 850 PP, so I dutifully saved up and bought my second one.
2) strat bombers have 8 strength points
3) strat bombers invariably take losses over target
4) strat bombers which have lost 5 strength points already, only have 3 left
5) strat bombers can lose as much as 3 strength points over target

have I made myself clear?

I hope the widow of the bomber pilot receives a generous government pension now and is proud of the medal he received posthumously, no doubt.

While I understand that you may be personal disinclined towards strategic bombing nowadays, do you think it is unbalanced in principle?

Edit: Just noticed that you answered that already in the latest AAR section while i was typing.
