5.02 -> 5.01?

Hi guys,

Recently purchased this great space sim and I'm really enjoying it but how I can revert it back to v5.01? Setup version is 5.02 and as pointed on other topics some mission types in campaigns are unplayable. What to do[&:]

You need the original Starshatter:TGS. [;)]
 
Then patch it to verson 5.0.1.
 
Did your purchased version come already patched to version 5.0.2?
 
If so, and the original version with the two patches aren't individually included... you're probably screwed. [:(]

I'm having much the same problem, actually. When I installed 5.01, then 5.02, I could no longer play any mission that involved assaulting or escorting an yelement with a name (such as blowing up SAMs, assaulting destroyers, escorting freighters/shuttles, etc.).  I haven't tried 5.01 by itself yet because I'm not sure I want to reinstall my game AGAIN.

If you ever do a complete re-install... ensure you delete everything. Including any game folders/files that remain behind.
 
Then do a new install. Patch to 5.0.1.

I posted this question in another thread, I currently have this exact issue. I can't just reinstall because my installer is version 5.02.

At the moment I'm keeping my fingers crossed the physical copy I get is 5.00 so I can just patch it to 5.01 myself.

If its no does anyone know of any way to revert the needed files? This is a game-breaking issue and I'm less than impressed with how long its been left (and even less impressed that Matrix would allow the installer to be such a broken copy of the game).

I am facing the same situation. I just bought the game yesterday, and imagine my disgust to find it completely unplayable. After going through the training missions, I get to the first real campaign, and the first mission is "Attack minefield 0`", which causes a CTD. And now, reading on this forum, I find that the problem is over a year old. My game came pre-patched with 5.02. I would very much like a way to downgrade to 5.01. Perhaps a fan-made patch?

dont know if this will help u but i read the post here and was just about to reinstall and decided to try something. i created a new pilot instead of trying to cont. w/ 5.02 patch. and i dont seem to have any trouble w/ it yet i was just lucky i had only gotten thru the training missions. also my game is a 5.00 game and i patched from the site it was not a 5.02 game so anyway hope this helps.

How about just telling Milo to fix the game properly. I think that would make us all happy campers. Eh, what?

I've already told Erik what I think of the support this game has received in private email. The support for this game is not up to matrixgames standards.

Just got to Starshatter Mods and pick up http://www.starshattermods.com/download ... nload_id=4 this patch. Delete 5.02 shortcut and replace with this.
