Excellent sir!..
Any moron risking them to beach heads will surely get what he deserves.
Thanks, much.

Ohhhh .. the differential unload rates, depending on port size, will absolutely kill those high value ships. They will spend at least a week, in any small port doing the unload thing. Gosh, a week of Bettys, ... say goodbye; and say goodbye to the division that was on-board, too.

This game will be a serious amphib puke's worst nightmare. Kinda like 4 pounds of baby-backs marinated for 2 days in Texas BBQ sauce.

Lots of backchannel help available from the designers of this nightmare; all tested valid. Enjoy!

Have you ever seen the movie The Final Countdown?

So will we be seeing a scenario including USS Enterprise with a couple squadrons of F-14, A-6, etc?? Would be a nasty little surprise for all the JFBs!!!

I remember SSG doing something like that years ago with the old Carriers at War. Was fun the first time through...

It wasnt the Enterprise. It was the Nimitz.

You're right. It was the Nimitz. That was a long time ago!!

What they have told us before is, basically, daily loss of PP high enough that you will not be able to sustain paying it, continuing until the unit is withdrawn. They didn't say this but I'm sure that destruction of the unit would stop the PP losses (unless there's a bug).

Very nicely done. You might have dug yourself out of THAT hole. Hope you're as good with the better half..

Yes, Major hit on PP. And yes, you won’t have to salvage a sunken wreck, neither is there a substitute requirement. Specific ships are set in the editor to withdraw; sometimes they return at a later date, sometimes they are gone forever.

Re the biggies: there’s limits on the total tonnage that can “dock” at a port (dependant on port size), there’s also a limit on the size of an individual ship that can “dock” at any given port (depending on port size). There are also load/unload rates dependant on port size (and the presence of Naval Support squads). There’s darn few places that the biggies can unload at. In small ports, it may take over a week, and all that time, they are Betty Bait.

I can just imagine the look on Brady’s face when he gets an intel report that says the Queen Mary is in Cucamongadinga harbor.

Anyhow, here’s the Queens, Mary & Elizabeth, and the Aquitania, just for fun. So … put them in-game with wartime gray paint jobs, or house colors? Ya’lls choice.

I believe the Queen Elizabeth was painted gray for her maiden voyage and Queen Mary had been repainted from her Cunard colors prior to the famous liner gathering in New York (early 1940).

I vote for gray.

This may have been answered before, but do withdrawing ships have to be in a certain port to withdraw? If so, is it nation specific (ie. for USA it is San Fran)? Or can you just click 'Withdraw' in the middle of the map?

Would be pretty funny if we had to actually sail the British ships all the way back to England for them to be withdrawn [:D]

Not related to this thread, but how does that work for air and land units? Withdraw from anywhere, or only from a certain base?

Thanks in advance!

While I much prefer the Cunard colours, the correct wartime paint scheme was grey, wasn't it?

Thanks for the reply Don. So interesting, they do have to get offmap.

Does that count for land and air units too?

And what happens if we choose NOT to sail them to an off map port??

Or they get sunk on the way?

LCU's are not under players control they are removed automatically.

You cannot stop them leaving and they will leave from any base its all automatic.

If you decide not to withdraw them you pay PP through the nose.

If they get sunk, the withdrawal no longer applies.
