Russia

Post by jeffk3510 »

I have never played as Japan in WiTP... but I was thinking last night as I was playing the grand campaign.....

Has any player ever had any luck loading up on the Russian Front and capturing all of the Russian bases...?

What would be the benefit here other than the garrison requirement will no longer have to be met, Allies can't move through Russia from Alaska... and such, and those troops can be used else where....?

Just curious.... I want to try it, but I haven't even begun to figure out the Jap production system...

My invasion of Russia started on this page in the AAR. The Russian air force like everything Russian is not very good but is massive in number. Same thing for their land forces.

Keep watching the AARs "The Repentant Samurai" "Please help GordoNZ" Gordon is going to invade Russia soon. You can learn from his mistakes [;)]

The reasons to do it would include the points to be scored and the resources to be grabbed, especially the oil at Okha. Also, late war when you can't move anywhere by sea, you can still go on a ground offensive to keep the game interesting.

Interesting... so has anyone tried this in the first few turns... and pulled it of and benefited from this?

So it is fairly easy to accomplish in stock?  What about fromt the other side.... Would the AI attach me in Russia ( I know I can't move anything) in stock ever?  I say somewhere on here that the AI rarely goes deep in India in stock....??? If that is so....I might reconsider my current strategy...
