mod there but no scenario,maps

Post by bairdlander2 »

need help.Im useing Vista.I installed mod(commenwealth summer),copied and pasted maps in COI map folder(not sure if that is correct method). When I go quick start to game all maps are from COI,scenarios are COI,but dates are CS and units and flags CS.Also need to know what happened to vanilla COI.Wont start on quick start, goes to CS.Usually when I installed mods from other games made a copy of original. Is it the same here? Thanks in advance for any ideas, suggestions.[&:]

Did you use ModSwap to install Commonwealth Summer.. that is the correct way.

When it is installed with ModSwap you can play CS Operations and the Normandy Campaign... scroll to the bottom of the campaigns list.

The maps are included in the plugin to play the first operation of the campaign.

If you want to continue the campaign download the mappack and unzip all the maps to your maps folder

To play Stock CoI use ModSwap to uninstall Commonwealth Summer

ok,I uninstalled COI,when I reinstalled command centre was showing I had WF mod installed(which I did previous)When I attempt to uninstall no pop up nothing. Also the WF is highlighted blue in list of installed mods.I downloaded CS with all maps(including Longues, village etc)when I attempt to install gives me pop up WF mod is using cc3 exe path? When I go quick start regular COI starts, but in saved games all previous are there.I uninstalled though.Any advice.I realized from posts here CS was not working right because of corrupted maps, that was why I uninstalled. Also uninstalled cuz WF would not uninstall.Thanks.

OK

You have installed WF first.

You have then left modswap open and then opened a new instance of modswap and uninstalled WF

You closed Modswap  (still leaving one instance open)

CoI still thinks WF was installed.

At a lter point you installed Commonwealth Summer.

So now you have a mish mash of files installed.

THE FIX

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Close Combat\Close Combat III\instmods.ini

Open instmods.ini with notepad

Edit it to read

[InstalledMods]
[ExclusiveFiles]

and save

Re-install CoI

You should now be good to go installing any mod you want.

NOTE: You must close modswap after installing or uninstalling a mod.

You navigate to instmods.ini   using windows explorer.

You can't save it if it is being used by another program... like any windows file.

Can you copy and paste the contents of your instmods.ini  here?
