My Opponent is doing my head in

Post by noodles »

My Opponent is playing very skillfully but there is no passion or soul in the way he plays. He seems to want to win without making a fight of it - to make an omelette without breaking any eggs. My hat is off to him for his analysis of the situation and his strategic realism, but it feels like I'm playing a super-computer rather than a living opponent. I've tried boasting, goading and ridiculing him into rash actions but he seems impervious to any form of psychological warfare and maintains his methodical approach whatever I do or say. What should I do?

Yeah, we have been gaming against one aother for more than 20 years, but in the last couple of months i've lost my ability to read his mind, and he seems to have aquired an ability to read mine.

Which side are you playing. As Japan you can screw with his Sig Int by setting false objectives

Sounds like he's read his Sun Tzu:

To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting.

While the battles the British fight may differ in the widest possible ways, they invariably have two common characteristics – they are always fought uphill and always at the junction of two or more map sheets.

More precisely:

"Winning is not everything. Wanting to win is."

Vince Lombardi (a famous American football coach) also said:
