Just purchased

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

Just purchased

Hey folks,

Thanks to all the other forum members and developers comments I just purchased the digital and physical copy ! I love military history but am a total rookie to the Napoleonic era. What would be the best way to learn this game and the tactics of this era? I hope I did not get in over my head.
Thanks for any comments.

1) Watch the video tutorials.
2) Read the rules
3) Play a game as a small land power like Sweden against the AI.
4) Read the rules again
5) Play a game as a land power like France against the AI
6) Consult the forums regularly
7) Play a game against AI as Britain
8) Join a PBEM game
9) Ask questions as needed
[:D]

I skipped 7 and this may be a mistake :(

I recommend turning down the difficulty, and jump right in to 1792 France 10,000 difficulty victory. Take your time to puzzle over what every little control does, fiddle with it, and consult the manual (and forums, and perhaps wikipedia) as needed. If you know (or acan learn anything) about late 18th century warfare, then you can just sort of play intuitively and you will do pretty well and can use that as a basis to figure out specifics in game.

Use the simple economy until you get all of the other game mechanics under control.  The advanced economy can take a while to feel comfortable with and you don't want that to detract from your enjoyment of the game.
