A little off topic but it's about SP1/2 & 3 videoproblem

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Hi

Having problem with SP1 (but I don't care 'cause I have SPWaW) and SP2 and 3. The problem is that my videocard doesn't support the game (apparently). As soon as I start the game the screen goes blank (black) with a "graphic"-line of approx. 2 pixels width highest up.

My card is a Voodoo3 3000 w. 16 Mb memory run on a Win98 system.

I'va already tried to install the generic VESA-drivers but they didn't work...

SP3-multiplayer works fine though, since it's Win95 based and not DOS-based.

Anyone else had this problem? Any interesting ideas? Otherwise I have to wait for SP Modern Warfare...

Haven't had that problem, but I've got an idea:

I think the problem is running it in Windows with your current video driver/settings. The SP1 manual has instructions for creating a DOS boot disk to start the game, this will run the game entirely in DOS thus eliminating any problems with new Windows video drivers - remember that SP1 is fairly old. At least booting the game from DOS will help you determine if Windows is the culprit.
